We have been using this item for our three children for our school at home and have been amazed at the results! All of our kids have learned how to type in a very short period of time - a week! Because the work is "fun," the kids want to do it and enjoy the success of being able to type. It still needs some oversite from a parent, but it is very minimal and simple. I would recommend this product highly. p.s. we have also tried Mavis Beacon and don't like this program very much in comparison to Typing Instructor.

I have twin 10 year olds and a 12 year old. They have all been "forced" to use this at least once a week for 30 minutes! I say "forced" because, they (of course) would much rather play a video game than a typing instructor! Ha! But, I have seen improvement in all three of them since Christmas. However, they have grown bored with this, so I am searching for a different typing CD-ROM. For the money, it is a nice beginner program!

My eight year old son liked this SW so much - he wanted me to write a review. All three of our sons (twin 8s and 10 years old) are learning to type fast...

This is probably a good product for younger children, but my 11-year old son is not terribly interested in it. I do wish the games were a little more geared towards older kids. It does work very well, however.

Kids went wild over it initially (8 y.o. and 5 y.o.) but got bored and tossed it to the side after about a week. My son though tries to type with his hands on the home keys now at least. Could be they will pick up using it again some time in the future. I couldn't figure out how to change users after one was already selected, so when changing I was forced to exit the program and reload.

I have a grandson who is very clever at most things. Public schools failed to teach cursive by the fifth grade, stating that he would do most things with a keyboard. However, they failed to teach keyboarding, too. When our boy was accepted into a gifted program, he was told he should know both cursive and keyboarding at the beginning of school. An adult typing program did not grab and hold his attention. I ordered the Typing Instructor for Kids 4 and used that for a few weeks of summer at about fifteen minutes on the computer per day. He now types with the best of them. The child entered sixth grade with confidence and abilities.

I think that this typing program is a good program because my students were able to follow the directions without continuously asking me. They also were really motivated to try. Many of them spend their personal time learning how to type.

I looked at alot of programs and decided on this one. I am happy that I did. The program is easy for my 10,9, and 7 year old to use and they get excited when they master a level. I had originally bought this for my 10 year old to help her with her dyslexia. Now all 3 of the kids are using it. I would recommend anyone to purchase this program.

I looked at a lot of different typing software before deciding on this one. The theme of going on an adventure is very suitable for my children. They are enjoying the games while learning how to type. Sometimes they even ask to play it. My sons are 6 years and 8 years. My 6 year old is diligently going through it and enjoys the games. My older one is simply trying to beat his previous score. In one summer he has gotten up to 12 words per minute with over 95% accuracy. I'm pleased with the software. It's very affordable too.

I bought this program for my 8 year old twins - and they just loved it! They really felt successful playing the games and beating them. everything is just right for that age group. best of all - they are learning to type!
