Three million visitors a year visit the American Museum of Natural History, often drawn to the life-size dioramas. And now, capturing all their magic, comes a series of dazzling Book and Diorama sets. Tyrannosaurus Rex, created by the Museumís own sculptor, is set against a color backdrop in a clear display case. Nestled into a sleeve on the reverse is a 64-page full-color book packed with fascinating scientific facts and the latest discoveries about each animal and its environment. Suitable for ages 6--9. I grew up in Hartsdale, NY and spent a lot of after-school and vacation time exploring the woods, ponds, and streams that were everywhere. After college, I joined the Peace Corps and spent several years working as a teacher in Costa Rica. I fell in love with the country, its people, and the incredible plant and wildlife.
Back in New York City I worked as a bilingual teacher before beginning my writing career. I love science and writing about it as well. Some of my favorite jobs have been working on the NATURE series for PBS and working at a natural history museum. These are settings that allow me to do the job I love and learn at the same time.
I am also a "word freak" and an avid Scrabble player.
