Product Description

This is a Multi-Format CD+G, DVD karaoke player with a removable hard drive (allowing you to transfer to PC or upgrade to larger capacities). You can use it as a regular karaoke disc player or as a karaoke music jukebox that plays the files stored on its hard drive. You can even use it as a 5.1 Surround Sound DVD player for your home theater system. The great thing about the hard drive on this unit is how easy it is to load (with direct disc to hard drive capturing function), and how simple it is for you to customize the song list to fit your own specific requirements. That ?s right, you do not have to be stuck with thousands of songs that you do not need and will never use. You can directly load just what you want. You create your own categories and assign song numbers for easy access by using a remote keypad - and you don?t have to be a computer whiz to do all this because it is as easy as 1,2,3.

4.0 out of 5 stars CPU fan noise is loud and buggy, September 9, 2009
This review is from: U-Best DA-268 Karaoke DVD Player with 1 TB Hard Drive, Color Black
I bought this from another merchant. The CPU noise is loud. I'm wondering why U-Best can't use a better fan which may just add $1 to the its cost.
Have not gone through the product yet so I can't comment on the other feature.

Continue with my last review after using it a little bit more.
It's good as a Karaoke machine which can store lots of songs. But it's a poor design machine giving it actually a PC.
I found the following problems:
1. It seems to me that the remote's Power button can only work when you have a DVD disk inside the tray or the tray is open.
2. You stores favorite song lists are gone after you shutdown the machine. I'm not sure whether this cause by #1 because I had to press the power button to turn off the machine.
3. This is confirm bug by calling the manufacture. That is if you change the setting to "component video". It will change back to default after turning off the machine.

I would give it two stars now.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nothing but heartache, November 8, 2011
This review is from: U-Best DA-268 Karaoke DVD Player with 1 TB Hard Drive, Color Black
To start, the instructions that came with this player are simply awful. The worst transgression was that it did not mention the space limit on the default location for recordings. By the time I had loaded all my songs from disc I had overwritten them twice. So that was over 2,500 songs gone, not to mention the notes I had made for my song books. While in the process of re-recording my lost songs, the unit died. After over $100 charge to ship my player from MN to CA for warranteed work, the unit died again after a month. It's no longer under warranty and I'm done paying $100 for shipping this thing, and with labor costs on top of that. Money down the drain, and worse, so many hours of my life I won't get back.
