U-Board: Multifunction Board with built-in 3 Port USB Hub and 1 Cup Holder (US Only)

The description says this stand will hold up to 15kg, so I got one for my 27" iMac [which is about 13 kg]. The stand "bowed in" under the weight, so I immediately removed the iMac and returned the stand.

If you're looking at this for a smaller computer, it might be just fine. But I recommend ignoring this items' stated weight capacity.

UBoard USB Multi-Board Keyboard/Monitor Stand Review

Like most Gadgeteers, I have multiple laptops, monitors, and assorted tech cluttered on my desk. I've always searched for many different ways of organizing my desk space. That's where the U-Board USB Multi-Board from Pyramid Distribution comes in. I've always wanted a small second shelf, like a mini-hutch, for my glass desk. The problem is that many places that sells them are made of wood, which doesn't really match well with the glass desk. Luckily the U-Board is made of glass too.

There is no instruction manual included in the package but there's a single picture of how all the pieces come together on the back of the box. It was pretty much self explanatory. It comes with the glass, left and right frame, cup holder, 4 rubber pads, 4 screws, and 4 screw covers. The left frame also acts as a 3 port USB hub.

Putting it together was pretty simple. You just slide the glass in to the frames and screw it down. The only thing that I noticed is that the screw sticks out a tiny bit which makes the screw covers lump out. I tried tightening the screws more but I was afraid that I might crack the glass. It's not a big deal but it would be nice if the screw covers were flat with the frame.

On the left and right of the frame are 2 holes that you can insert the cup holder in. The cup holder has 5 slots that you can hold papers in also. I'm not sure about you but I personally like to keep liquids far away from my tech. It would be better if they changed that cup holder to something like an iPod dock.

The U-Board logo is on the top left of the glass.

The U-Board is big enough to fit a full size Microsoft Keyboard Elite. And of course it can fit the Mac Wireless Keyboard also.

Having the U-Board gave me an extra shelf to place stuff on in front of my monitor and also be able to slide my keyboard underneath it.

My Griffin knob and Luxeed keyboard gives the U-Board a nice glow.

At $49.95, I believe the U-Board is well worth it. I love the simplistic design and the integrated USB hub. The U-Board is also compatible with both Macs and PCs.

beware, this product does not work as advertised. The only reason I bought this item was to have a USB hub for my iMac, but in the end it did not work. The USB hub does not recognize any devices plugged into it. In the end, I found this product to be an expensive shelf that is to fragile to carry anything more than a keyboard.

I love this product. It keeps my cats off my keyboard and trackpad. It's just the right height that I can type while the keyboard is under it and see the keys I'm pressing. It is very sturdy and durable.

There are some cons, but not enough to subtract a full star.
The screw covers necessarily have small holes for removal, but it prevents a clean polished appearance and can catch dirt.
The USB cord is not removable, and I don't use it, so it's just hanging there.
The cup holder is restricted to the right side, and the phone holder to the left side.
These holders can only be mounted on the back side of the unit and not the front.
The holders can not be adjusted for having the unit on a slanted work surface.
The glass likes fingerprints.

All these cons aside, I love this product and have no regrets about purchasing it.

I received a U-Board for Christmas off my Amazon wishlist. I really wanted to love this board. I recently downgraded to a smaller desk and wanted a way to raise my laptop to the same level as my monitor. The U-Board is essentially two plastic legs and a thick glass tabletop, the construction feels good, heavy and secure. My biggest problem is how long it is even without the included accessories, which is probably my fault for not reading the dimensions. I have a small 13" macbook and this board is just too wide. It takes up so much space on my desk I can't use it without shifting everything over. It's also completely pointless unless you get a usb or wireless keyboard, because typing up that high is extremely uncomfortable. I've only had it for two days and I've already stopped using it just because of the typing issue. It's a great idea and maybe it'll work for some people but it just doesn't suit my setup.

I have a Samsung 27inch monitor and needed a stand for the laptop. The uboard does a good job and looks great, but I am deducting one star for the USB hub that is useless. My keyboard does not work nor does my USB portable hard drive due to the lack of power.

The U-board is very stylish and looks fantastic with the MAc computer. However, the USB connections do not work.

3 USB ports, cup holder and a great way to raise laptops or use for additional storage of oft-used items on your desk!

The UBoard - USB Multiboard sold by Pyramid Distribution is exactly what I needed. It fits my iMac 27 perfectly, allowing me to put the keyboard on top abutting the flat screen display which gives me plenty of room for "mousing around" under the keyboard. In addition, the USB ports are handy; you can never have too many.

UPDATE: There seems to be some confusion, some folks thought I was suggesting putting the iMac 27 on top of the fragile glass shelf. That was not my intent, I was suggesting it be placed as shown in the photos accompanying the product description.
