People just love to complain. This manual is NOT out of date. It has served and is still used by the United States military. Soldiers as well as civilians have survived using the time-tested knowledge cointained in this book. Wilderness Survival has not changed. The techniques been used for thousands of years, they are used today and will be used long after we are gone. Most of the drawings are in black and white, they are vivid drawings and you can easily understand it. There's also a lot of beautiful edible plans photos that you won't see in most other survival manuals. I spent $8 on this book and I think it's really worth it.

Went to Barns and Noble to look at survival/wilderness books and simply couldn't find exactly what i wanted. This book is perfect...detailed yet simple enough to read and put to use on the fly. The Army has been using this book for years for a reason.

Great for wilderness survival, I learned quite a bit. Some of the topics covered water purification, shelters, first aid, etc.

Probably one of my favorite books. When the s*** hits the fan, it might be the only book you'll want around. Everything from filtering rain water using a cut-off pant-leg to desert survival. And I was definitely shocked at how many uses a poncho can have. Highly recommended.

This book leaves no stone unturned !!!! I am sure that even Les Stroud, and Dave Canterbury would find this book useful. A detailed book on wilderness survival skills. If you are a fan of TV survival shows, this book is a MUST !!!!

Purchase for my dad for Christmas...He loved it so I ended up ordering for myself. Great thing to read at leisure to learn about survival.

Not a bad book, pretty good. Has trapping and triggers in there that can be used on both animals and man. Does a great job on those topics. Alot of info in there if you think you know it all already or if your just getting into survival. Every Conservative needs to read threw this book at least once.
