Product Description

U.S. Chemical & Biological Defense Respirators: An Illustrated History is a historical overview of United States military and civilian defense respirator developments spanning the period from the beginnings of CBW respiratory protection in the First World War. Accompanied by photographs, illustrations and other supplemental material, the book may serve as a valuable reference for military historians, NBC defense specialists concerned with the design, development and evolution of military and civil individual protection against war agents, and even collectors of military memorabilia. In view of the fact that no reference work of this type has ever before been prepared, U.S. Chemical and Biological Defense Respirators provides an informational starting point for individuals interested in developing personal understanding about a relatively exotic and important area of modern defensive technology.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chris Carey's Book - Super reference!, November 8, 2001
By A Customer
Super reference book on the subject! I have been collecting for years and I still learned something from Chris' Book. Highly recommended reference for the historian or collector! As there is no other available except military publications, I cannot compare it to others. However, unlike the military Technical Manuals, this book covers every mask in one book with real photos as opposed to many books with drawings! Recommended!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great source for info on gas masks and chemical warfare., October 28, 1998
By A Customer
This book is a MUST HAVE for any militaria enthusiast. The book contains a beautiful photo section and an accurate history on chemical warfare and US gas masks in particular. Carey's extensive research brings us a long overdue source for information on the subject at a very affordable price.
