I was thinking about writing a book about Hwy 89 at one point but I couldn't have done a better job than Ann Torrence. The book is packed w/ vivid photographs and evocative writing. I skipped to the part about N. Arizona. There is something deeply mysterious and haunting about that region, at least for me. But the whole highway is magical. Well done!

Learned about this book and its preparation from an audio interview on the Adorama website and decided I wanted to see the photos because I had traveled and photographed the same areas. The photos were great, including a lot of areas I had no opportunity to reach, but the text was at least as well done and entertaining as the photos. Enjoyed it all. An excellent introduction to an area that is well worth a trip to go and see.
