This review is from: U.S. History (SparkNotes Study Cards) (Cards)
I bought these cards for my daughter, who was taking the AP United States History test. When we were studying I was surprised by omissions and mistakes in the cards. On Abraham Lincoln's card it says:
"...Lincoln's primary goal during and after the Civil War was to restore the Union. He was assasinated in 1863 before he could realize his goal." Below the type is my daughter's handwriting, correcting the card. In case Sparknotes authors didn't realize this, Lincoln was still alive in 1864 when he was re-elected.
This is what Sparksnotes said about Jimmy Carter: "Jimmy Carter, a Democrat, served as president of the United States from 1977 to 1981. Carter is best known for his commitment to morality and for advancing the human rights cause. During his term in office, he faced an oil crisis, a weak economy, and severe tension in the Middle East." Nowhere on the card does it mention the part Carter played in the Camp David Accords -for which he won a Nobel Prize.
These are just two examples. There are others.
