5.0 out of 5 stars Another Thizz Records bangin' album!!
Many times when you get a collaboration of two artists, you get a rushed album, not really worth listening to... Well, that's NOT the case with Da US Open. I think it's one of the best albums to come out the Bay in 2005, if not the best one (I'm still waiting for Yuk's sh** to drop!). Man, what can you say? Mac Dre is a legend, and he was a legend even before he left us...

Mac Dre is a legend, and he was a legend even before he left us (R.I.P. Andre Hicks). He's one of the true pioneers in the Bay, and he's one of the two rappers that put Vallejo on the map (E-4o being the other one). He influenced so many other rappers, and helped them with their career, it's amazing. Mac Mall, a bo$$ himself, was first guided by Mac Dre, who was his mentor. They were beefing for a while, but they squshed their beef and came out with this album in 05, and believe me - 3 years from now it'll be considered a classis! The album is short and sweet (12 songs deep and about 45 minutes long). Mac Dre is... well, Mac Dre. One of the most charismatic rappers ever, his raps are smooth, laid-back, funny. It's just Mac Dre, he's just being himself, a real triple OG in this game, with his laid-back, smooth pimp attitude. Mac Mall came out very well, and on many of the songs he even sounds like his old self, rapping with passion (Especially on the song "Cuddies say Yee" - a masterpiece. This album deserves 5 stars for this song alone!!). The production is just perfect, handled by Tone Capone, One Drop Scott, Johnny Z and others. The bass is HARD on this album, man, it sure will bump in your ride or at your home stereo!! The music is different than other Bay Area rap, it's just got that classic Thizz Records sound. You also get great guest appearences by Dubee, PSD, J-Diggs and Rydah J Klyde... It's just a perfect album, so fun to listen to. It just makes you feel good, and even the harder tracks got that humor edge to them, since it's Mac Dre we're talking about. A must have no doubt. R.I.P. Mac Dre, a true legend. His death was a HUGE lost and he'll be missed for ever. However, his music will never be forgotten. Thizz for life!!!

I have to admit that I was hesitant to cop this cd when I first heard about it. But I heard a couple of people tell me how good it was and I had to see for my self. In my opinion Mall kinda fell off after Untouchable, so I wasn't really feelin it. However, I was very surprised when I listened to this CD that man came sick (Especially on maca-frama-lamma #11) . As for Andre Macassi there was no doubt he was gonna come with it and he did fa sho. This whole CD is slap from 1-12. The hottest track has got to be Dredio(#12) with a surprising visit from from the other V-town legend e-40. Ever since I bought this CD I haven't listened to anything else. If you don't have this one you're dead wrong. Go cop it!!
Thizz In Peace MAC DRE
