I was concerned to see these listed as "fragile" by a previous reviewer, but the mine proved to be not fragile at all. (I was using them on a car trip and sat on them a couple of times.)

They are indeed made of very tough bamboo and the shape of the hooks is nicely-carved so that they're quite easy to use.

I haven't used bamboo hooks before. At first they're a little sticky, but they quickly get polished smooth with use. By then, they're much pleasanter to use than metal hooks.

For the price I paid ($1.75 apiece), I consider them a steal--these are very fine!

I love how easy it is to work with these, however, they will snap very easily. I was working with the "K" hook and left it on the sofa. My son didn't see it and dropped his backpack on the couch and it snapped in half. The backpack didn't have much in it and as the hook was laying on the blanket I'm working on, it should have had plenty of cushioning. Apparently not! Yes, the tips work wonderfully when picking up stitches, but the fragility needs to be mentioned. If you are very, very careful they will be fine and be easy to work with.

Tunisian crochet hooks--all wood, well made. This craft comes and goes, and with the new how-to books available, our knitting group has enjoyed learning a new craft.

Im very happy with my purchase of bamboo sticks. will be back if I break one again. car door and sticks don't have a chance.

I bought these a couple of months ago because they were extremely affordable as a set and thought they would be somewhat decent and usable. I was wrong: These hooks are super cheap and yarn tends to "drag" a bit. To makes matters worse, several of the "hooks" or points were rough and splintered causing the yarn to catch quite often. To get them to work I had to file them down a bit. They work much better now but I still can't recommend this product. This is an inferior product. I guess the point of my review is: "You get what you pay for!"

If you are an experienced crocheter and think you might enjoy tunisian crochet, invest in one or two high-quality tunisian crochet hooks. You'll be happy you did.

The hooks are much sturdier than I had anticipated. The bamboo is smooth and comfortable to hold. I would recommend them.

I have already used two of the set and am delighted with the way they feel and slide with the yarn. I think that they will provide many years enjoyment, as I crochet daily.

I'm just getting started with Tunisian crochet, and this set of hooks was exactly what I needed. A wide selection of sizes at a great price, and the bamboo hooks are solidly constructed for smooth handling and no unwanted jaggy edges to catch yarn on.
