4.0 out of 5 stars I love the concept, style & beauty - would love a better keyboard
I love this machine. I bought mine in Dec-January 2009. It is stylish and truly light weight but don't let that fool you, this machine can run with the big boys. I use it in place of a 17" Sager NP5793-V Extreme when I travel. The U6 allows me to play Second Life online and The Sims 2, with all the gamepacks and addins, on high settings. Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: ASUS U6V-V1-Bamboo 12.1-Inch Laptop (2.53 GHz Intel T9400 Processor, 4 GB RAM, 320 GB Hard Drive, Nvidia 9300M GS Graphics, Vista Business) (Personal Computers)
It also allows me to do graphic and calculation intensive presentations, spreadsheets and so on as well as the Sager, albeit trading the weight and size for a little less graphic ability. The screen is amazing, works well using little power but take a little getting used to (reminds me a little of the old style screens). I have used Asus for years as a supplier of motherboards and other computer parts and knew their quality well but was suprised at the level of quality and care in their laptops. The U6 comes with 2 years of support, 24/7 tech phone support and one month zero bright dot plus 2 way standard overnight shipping, one year of accidental coverage - all comes in the cost of the machine which is far below what most pay for the big boy names (and with Asus, I have only called once). My only complaint on Asus is the keyboards - I am a very light typer and they tend to skip keys depending on how you hold your hands on the keyboard. Tech support told me of a filter to I could download to try as a fix - otherwise I would have to give up my computer and I had just gotten it - so I went with the filter - not a big help. But having bought from all the big name firms (and gotten support and returned to all the big name firms) - This is one of the very, very, very few computer companies I recommend people to buy laptops from - and that's part of my job.

A high performing and aesthetically pleasing notebook of an ideal size for portability and functionality. Not too large and not too small. The keypad mouse buttons require an unusually high amount of force. You "push" rather than "click". This is my only significant operational complaint. I get past this by using a wireless mouse. The screen is nice and bright. The unit is advertized as having a 320 GB hard drive. When I open "My Computer", it appears the hard drive is only 160 GB. I will have to investigate this. If this is true, the item did not ship as represented.
