I've been using the Maxius Maxiglide hair straightener for the last five years and loved it. A couple weeks ago, it finally went out on me and so I decided to do some research to see what else was out there. I stumbled upon the U9 and found a couple of reviews on it that peaked my interest. So I decided to "ADD TO SHOPPING CART", and with Amazon Prime free shipping... how could I not!?

I received my package yesterday and immediately tore open the box to find this really fun looking PINK flat iron. I plugged it in and it reached 450 degrees within seconds!! That was impressive. I'm Hawaiian, so I have really REALLY thick, long, wavy hair. I do not own a blow dryer because of how frizzy and enormous my hair will be if I use one!! Generally, it would take me 45+ minutes to straigten my hair (using the 2" maxiglide), so I decided to time myself with the U9. As I said, it reached 450 degrees within a matter of seconds, so that cut a couple minutes off my time. I was impressed that one clean swipe through a good chunk of hair was all it took. I'm used to going over the same area two or three times. After 11 minutes, my entire head was done, and I kid you not when I say it looked like it had been done by a professional!! It was silky smooth, not one hair was missed!! I couldn't be more impressed!!

I highly recommend this straightener to anyone!!! I have never been this excited over a hair product before. This hair straightener is going to change my life! No more waking up an hour early to get ready in the morning, no more going over my hair two or three times, and no more touch-ups throughout the day!! YES, my hair stayed pin straight all day long! I even slept on it just to see what it would look like in the morning and I didn't even need to do any touch ups! This is seriously an excellent product and is well worth every dime spent. I'm not sure if it will last as long as my Maxiglide did, but considering I won't have to use it as much, it should last a while!

I gave this flat iron to my granddaughter for Christmas and she LOVES it. She's had other staighteners that didn't come close to meeting her expectations like this one did. In addition to being a great product it has a great price.

I own soy many many irons (CHI) ( amika ) all really expensive ones.
and this iron leaves my hair so straight ! i never had my hair like that of straight and shiny.
i do put the heat till 180 because i have fine hair.
but this iron is the best one.
and the service was very good. one day i had my iron in my door !

I love this flat iron! It makes my hair super silky and soft and straightens in minutes. The only problem I had was when I straightened my hair I had to be careful when holding it so I wouldn't burn myself because there isn't much of a heat barrier. With previous hair straighteners I could hold it and be fine but the temperature control and makeup of the device can be improved. Other than that it is fantastic and I would definitely recommend!

I purchased this model simply because it was dual voltage. I wanted to bring a straightening iron to Europe that would work with a simple plug adapter but would not require a voltage converter. In that respect, it worked without a problem during my three months away from home.

I must admit, though, that I couldn't wait to get back to using my own iron, which is the Metropolis T-Ion Tourmaline Iron, 1". Before purchasing this second iron, I didn't really understand what difference it would make to have much wider plates. As it turns out, 1" plates offer much greater control and ease of use for shorter hairstyles. I have chin-length hair and my mother has an ever shorter style. With the U9 Titanium, we both found that we were much more prone to burning ourselves (neck, face, and fingers).

Unless you have a lot of long hair that you need to straighten as quickly as possible, I would recommend an iron with narrower plates.

I gave this to my daughter for Christmas- she says it takes just 15 min to straighten her long hair. She loves it and wont go over night anywhere without it.

Works great, I have very thick long hair with a soft natural wave. I would like to compare it with one that has a built in brush, but having never used one it does the job as long as I comb my hair before each section.

I have been using it for a year since i bought it. This is my first flat iron, and i can't compare with others, but it doesn't hurt my hairs like other reviews say about the cheap flat irons. it is very easy to use even i was a newbie of flat iron when i received it. However, since the 1st week of using it, the temperature controller can't controled and it's stucked at the middle high temperature i was set last time (it worked only the 1st two days)... since then, i didn't touch that controller again, and i had to adopt it manually to prevent "burning" my hairs. Sooner, i got used to its & didn't want to return it because my hairs couldn't without it every morning before I headed to work. Originally, I bought this also for travelling since it has built-in dual voltage for different countries. But when i really went to travel, i didn't take it with me; insteady, i bought a cheap & handy one. but it's a good selling point for those who may relocate somewhere else in the future.
