I have used this product several times now and it works great. Instead of looking for matches, I just strike this once and the propane grill is going. I can store it outside where my grill is and I don't worry about it getting moist like matches would.

Works well. Bought it to throw in my winter emergency kit in my car. You can never have too many ways to start a fire. Word of advice: this makes plenty of spark, but only starts a fire with the help of very good tinder. If you don't want to spend a fortune on exotic fungus or wood shaving tinders, go out and buy a roll of waxed paper, tear it in strips and wad them in your hand. Then loosen them up and you have some excellent tinder.

I bought this fire striker (Sweedish Firesteel - Barbeque Model) to start fires while camping, for an outside firepit, and for backup when treking. I also sent one to my son for similar uses. We both love the striker! Would suggest the smaller model if you are going to carry as this one is 6.5 inches overall.
