Okay, if you're looking for cheap windproof, waterproof matches these will work.

If you're still reading there's a few details you might be interested in:

1) The matches come with separate strikers in addition to the one on the cardboard box. This is good, as the one on the box was worn out after the very first match was struck.

2) The matches are somewhat difficult to light, but they do work, especially if you use the separate strikers provided. Keep this in mind if you intend to just throw a box into your kit.

3) Despite the negatives these matches do work like they're supposed to. I tried one out and dipped it in water, lit it, dipped it while burning and then pulled it out and it lit right back up. You also cannot blow these out, so in that sense they do work.

If I were ordering again I'd look for higher quality matches, but these will get the job done.

The UCO Stormproof Matches are an excellent addition to your survival gear or E.D.C. kit. If you were to have only one type of match then the Stormproof matches are the ones to carry. They are windproof and will remain lit even after being completely submerged in water. The match will burn for approximately 15 seconds in windy and wet conditions. When used in conjunction with Vaseline impregnated cotton balls you have a great method to start a fire during inclement weather. These matches should only be used outdoors and would not be recommended for children as once the match is lit it won't go out until completely burned.

Pros:
- Easy to use
- Flame lasts for 15 seconds
- Windproof AND waterproof
- Spare strikers are included

I really like the UCO Stormproof Matches and use them in conjunction with the UCO Stormproof Match Case Kit as it is the only case I have seen that will fit these extra large matches. Stormproof matches are larger than most matches and therefore require a larger case. Most of the cases available are designed for standard size matches will not fit the Stormproof matches.

I highly recommend the UCO Stormproof Matches as part of your fire starting gear.

These matches work as promised. They do in fact stay lit for right at 15 seconds, and while the flame obviously goes out underwater, the match itself stays lit, and reignites when you take it out of the water again. Although that particular application will never come up i'm sure, the chances of being in a situation like heavy rain, flooding, etc....make this a good feature. Also, it is pretty impossible to blow them out, which means that high winds shouldn't be a factor in using them either. This comes with two extra strikers as well, although i found i didnt need them per se, but it's a nice little something extra that goes in my kit. Also, the matches are not flimsy by any means. They are thicker and less likely to break than most matches. All in all, a good product, and one that is worthwhile for anybody, whether they maintain an emergency kit or not. You just never know hen they will come in handy.

These are perfect for camping and emergencies! Glad that I decided to get this for future uses, hopefully not under bad weather circumstances.

I tested these after leaving one underwater for a minute then after a few tries it light up great, kind of like the fuse of a firework. When I tested it outside, it was fairly windy but no matter what the fire would not go out, ever when I tried to make it go out. It also comes with a few spare strikers inside the box. These are a must for outdoor hunters, hikers, adventurers, etc.

Light pretty anywhere, under pretty much any conditions. Live in Southern Oregon and camp/hike up north, allot, weather changes quick and winds pick all the time- great to have in hiking pack, and a must addition to a fire kit in any b.o.b.

These matches advertised they'd burn for 15 seconds? They make a great flame but they only last about 5 seconds. I will not be buying them again.
