Got this for a present for my son and just took it for a test flight to make sure it was working before giving it to him. Udi has a pretty good reputation on the rc forums for toy grade helicopters, particularly for their sub-s107 sized U802 and U807, and their micro quadcopter, the U816. This is a well-built helicopter, easily matching if not exceeding the Syma S107 for quality. The frame on this one seems a bit heftier than the s107 and the camera adds weight too. It has plenty of power to get off the ground despite the heavier weight, but the little tail rotor just does not provide enough oomph to move this thing forward or reverse in any sort of quick or refined matter. It makes it very slow to respond to commands. Unlike the Syma controller, the throttle is also not spring loaded which can also present a challenge if you can't get the throttle just right and for disengaging the throttle in the event of a crash. These factors do make this helicopter a bit more difficult to fly than the Syma, but it is still a nice stable helicopter. I'm thinking about modding it a little with a different size tail rotor to see if that improves the control. Camera works great. Records video at 640 x 480 and takes pictures at 1280 x 960, which would actually be 1.3 megapixel and not 3.0 as in the description. This is still better than the 640 x 480 stills that most of these camera helicopters use though. This particular helicopter has a rather idiotic feature. There is a button labeled "mode" on the controller that switches the helicopter into a demo mode that is designed to fly the helicopter through a pre-set pattern of movements. If you are in this mode, it engages the pattern a few seconds after moving the throttle regardless if the helicopter is not off the ground or about to hit the ceiling or a wall.Read more ›

I've had several versions of IR controlled helicopters and was really excited to try one with a camera. I like the remote control with triggers for movies and images, but, the flight control is not very good compared to other helicopters I've had. Maybe the weight is what makes the whole thing less stable. The image quality on the camera has not been very good either.

This copter has unique features such as the spy camera which is why I bought it but is inferior in design in comparison to several other copters I own and fly. This one lost parts in flight all ready and landing bar has all ready broke off.

This is my first camera-equipped heli. I am very happy with it so far, flight time is just under 10 minutes, compares well with my Syma s107, however it is not quite as easy to fly. Regarding the the other review...This heli is designed to fly ONLY INDOORS! Direct sunlight renders the controller useless! 5 or so months later, battery will not hold a charge-replaced battery twice, Heli will not charge anymore, also when it was working it was hard to keep good steady flight compared to my Syma S107 or my World Tech Toys model! I now rate it 2 stars.

Helicopter respond well to the controller, you have to give yourself some time and go slow. Camera works good, pictures are a little blurry but to be expected with it moving. Video quality is good, but could be better.

This r/c helicopter does drift a little more than the Symas and a little more difficult to control but the quality of the video is outstanding and the ability to take still pictures with it is a definite plus. All in all this is a good product
