3.0 out of 5 stars Edited... October 27, 2009
By Scott
The new distributors of UFC dvds are not as good as the previous distributors. Too much content has been edited out. Brocks post fight antics, Dan's post fight interview as well as replays of his BRUTAL KO of Bisping...avoid DVD if possible.

4.0 out of 5 stars Historic UFC100 DVD slightly edited October 20, 2009
So I just got UFC100 and the prelims are on the 2nd disc again along with the Countdown show, bonus behind the scenes, and sadly no weigh-ins. All the pre fight montages and post fight Rogan interviews are included as well, though the post fight antics with Brock are slightly edited with him flicking the crowd off and him saying he only drinks Coors Light instead of Bud Light are taken out but other than that its all there. This DVD has great fights on both cards and is a must have for all fans of UFC/MMA.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREATEST KNOCK OUT OF ALL TIME November 5, 2009
UFC 100
This was the historic 100th UFC event that was supposed to be the greatest card in history, did they accomplish that? I don't think they did but it was a great night of fights that also held the greatest knock out in history in my opinion. It would see a debut of a highly respected fighter in the first televised fight, a legend going against an ultimate fighter on the under card, a former welterweight contender coming back after his last fight, a battle of TUF coaches, a welterweight title fight, and an undisputed heavyweight champion crowned. The DVD its self is a mixed bag since it is edited but for the most part it is good. Also this is not the 100th UFC event, it is actually the 133rd event because of events that were listed as .5 after another event. These events included the Ultimate Ultimates and such. Also on a side note this DVD is heavily edited like Dan Henderson's post fight interview, as well as Brock Lesnar's.

1.YOSHIHIRO AKIYAMA VS ALAN BELCHER-this is absolutely a wonderful fight and highly entertaining as these two battle it out over 15 minutes. Belcher is a well known UFC fighter and Yoshihiro is making his debut after pilling up win after win in K-1 Hero's, with only one loss on his record. The first round was insane as both just slug it out both going for the finish. We see take downs, knock downs, and submission attempts in this round making it very hard to score. The second round is just as exciting as the first with both going all out trying to end the other. The only thing is Akiyama got the take down and controlled him on the ground for a while. Another close call round with Belcher landing some nice leg kicks, but I see Akiyama taking it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Blue Ray with some flaws October 22, 2009
I saw this live on PPV when it happened on July 11th, and couldn't wait to get the Blu Ray. The blu ray for the most part, is fantastic. The HD presentation is 1080i, but looks as good as the HD broadcast on ppv. The card itself is awesome. The prelims were also great too. The bonus features include some promos for other products, nothing special. The real treat though was the behind the scenes look at ufC 100, which showed a lot of cool stuff. Also, the countdown to UFC 100 show was a nice compliment to UFC 100 and gets you hyped for the fights.

The only gripe I have, that keeps this from getting a 5/5, was that it seems the program is edited in a distracting way at times. For example, the entrance music tracks have been replaced by non-licensed royalty free music. Watching the PPV, I remember Frank Mir walking in to Kanye's "Amazing", but here it is replaced by a generic drum and base instrumental which sounds aweful. You can still hear the original entrance song in the background, although faint. It's an ugly effect. Also, some of the commentary is edited out, and Brock's famous rant at the end also got edited. He says most of the things, just not the bud light diss. Overall a great package still, but would have been better if it were unaltered.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great purchase, just not what was live... October 24, 2009
I bought the blu-ray version of UFC 100 expecting to see what I saw back in July when I ordered the event live. Unfortunately, that was not the case. As another review stated, the Lesnar rant is slightly edited and the entrance music is changed yet you can still hear the original in the background. The final fight of the evening (Jon Fitch vs. Paulo Thiago) was moved to the middle of the fight selections so not only do we not get the original entrance music, we also get fights out of order - I believe there were one or two prelim fights that were out of order as well. I just wish that the UFC released their pay-per-view events as they actually aired on television, just my two cents.

Other than that, the picture was awesome - in fact it looked better than the HD version I ordered live on television. There wasn't anything special with the audio, but it still sounded really good on my 7.1 surround sound.

All in all, if you can look past the editing and are a UFC fan, then you'll like this. It's definitely worth being in your collection. Knowing the flaws, I still would have bought it. Now BRING ON MORE UFC EVENTS ON BLU-RAY!!

5.0 out of 5 stars UFC 100 decent benchmark looks better on blu-ray November 16, 2010
By grafdog
(update) I just got the blu-ray version and its a big improvement over the regular ufc 100 dvd.(end update)

With ufc 100 It's evident that some effort was made by zuffa to make ufc 100 memorable. For such a benchmark show it could have been a bit better with more stars and title matches, but for what it "is" its pretty darn good.
The main card was packed with their better athletes, the 3 main events all had some serious heat going in.
The under card could be a main card(for england or germany) in itself. It had a good variety of striking techniques Kim vs Grant Coleman vs Bonnar and Jones vs O'brien are good examples of superior grappling(the last 2 should have been on the main card).
There's a lot of good finishes, but several of the fights went to a decision which happens a lot with evenly matched opponents. As a result some of the fights while good are fairly forgettable(Fitch).
