This review is from: UFO Afterlight (DVD-ROM)
Having played the first of this series and liking it, and then avoiding the second because it looked like utter crap, I was skeptical but optimistic in purchasing this installment. I have to say that they managed to put together a very nice game overall. I was hooked from the beginning and invested far too many hours of my lfe in this game the last few weeks.
The game has a pretty good storyline, though it could be a tad better explained; and there are a few "concepts" that the game completely ignores (such as the detrimental effects of wounding)but overall it is still a great game. I'd give it a solid B+ rating, maybe even an A-. I plan on playing it through again, though because the game walks a tightrope between scripted events and open endedness I don't think it will be as engrossing as the first time through. For the money this is a great game, I've already got two of my friends to buy it, and I recommend that everyone else does too. Maybe it will encourage them to make a fourth installment or totally remake one of these with an expansion pack. |
