4.0 out of 5 stars A Method of Programming Man, February 7, 2005
By
Terry Melanson (Moncton, N.B. Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: UFO: End-Time Delusion (Paperback)
This is the first book I read that proved the connection of the UFO phenomenon with the wider spectrum of the paranormal, demonology, new age cults, creeds and eastern religious teachings.

The authors draw from the literature of various sources, including those on the occult side. Respectable UFOlogists such as John Keel and Jacques Vallee are also quoted heavily, and though their views are hardly what a christian would believe, their analysis of the situation is identical to the thesis of the authors'.

It's not that the authors take every encounter as fact or even at face value. It is the life changing aspect of the experiences that is important here. Contactees, abductees and those who have the classic encounters with spirit guides and walk-ins have been imparted with strikingly similar messages from these "aliens." The experiencers, in every case, are told by the entities that we are on the verge of a transformation and that we have to spiritually evolve in order to transcend onto the next level and become a God. Sound familiar?

Here's a few quotes:

--------------------------

"The number of contactees has risen dramatically in the last few years along with the increase in New Age and occult practices. We are seeing a parallel rise in both New Age and UFO phenomena. A New Ager who practices trance channeling says,

Very often UFO contactees are, by their own admission, individuals who have become disillusioned with the existing religious institutions. (In the western world probably Judaism or Christianity.)" (p. 110)

--------------------------

"The New Age, Eastern mystics, and UFO advocates preach an impersonal life force. Man is his own god. There is no need for a redeemer, for there is no sin. One may use meditative techniques to descend into the lower depths of consciousness and there discover the divine within." (p. 62)

--------------------------

"A New Age devotee just hasn't 'arrived' unless he has had contact with a 'spirit guide,' an 'ascended master,' a 'channeled entity,' or a 'space brother-ETI.' Contact is sought through meditation techniques, invocation, luciferic initiation, or by the laying-on-of-hands by a guru, channeler, or other New Age expert." (p. 153)

--------------------------

"The average citizen does not realize that a techno-occultic bill of goods is being sold to the public by some scientists, politicians, and entertainment personalities. The man on the street is gazing at the stars because he is being told by so many 'authorities' that not only is man evolving, but that there are other evolving civilizations more advanced than ours, and that some day we will be friends and partners with these aliens in a grand adventure in an upward process of evolution leading to godhood!" (p. 116)

--------------------------

"It is interesting that they twist or deny many important biblical truths. Why would supposedly evolved intelligences from other world's be so concerned about a local, unique religious manifestation? They should not be threatened by something we would eventually 'outgrow' as a race. The obvious answer is that the Bible makes their attempt to deceive us obvious. It thwarts their plans for mass brainwashing and takeover. They must deny the truth of the Bible." (p. 123)

3.0 out of 5 stars A plausible concept of end time events, January 8, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: UFO: End-Time Delusion (Paperback)
Mr. Lewis and Mr Shreckhise make a good case for the possibility that UFO's and their related occurences are tools of satan. In principle I agree that this is a distinct possibility. Their case however is severely weakened in my mind by their credulous acceptance of all UFO reports as being totally factual in nature. Many of the reports they cite in their book have been shown to be either factually incorrect or downright hoaxes. For example, even the most ardent UFO believer will now admit that Travis Walton's abduction story is a fabrication or that Betty and Barney Hill's account does not stand up to close scrutiny. They also appear to accept as fact that regression hypnosis is a viable method to assist an individual to remember past events even though it has been shown that even if a person claims to have never seen a UFO he can still have the same memories of alien abduction when they are hypnotically regressed. Even though the book is flawed in these areas it would still make a nice addition to a library.

Lots of food for thought in this one... bottom line is we need to be ready for anything. Do not be deceived.
