1.0 out of 5 stars Blech, December 26, 2001

"stevengaydos1" (San Francisco, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: UFO Files [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I bought the box set. Oops. The video quality is at best, poor. My set was unopened, brand new, yet most of the tapes were barely viewable due video quality problems. The content was poorly researched and plodding. Yech. VERY NICE box art is misleading. Don't waste your money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Convincing......But......., March 27, 2003
This review is from: UFO Files [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This review refers to the 5 VHS Box Set of "UFO Files"(Madacy)....

If you or someone you know is doubtful of whether or not we are alone in this universe, the evidence presented in these tapes will convince you that we are not!. But..Here's the tricky part..getting someone to sit through them. The tapes themselves released by Madacy in 1998, look more to be home videos made in 1968. Now I realize that many of the interviews go back that far and more but, they really need to be spruced up. The speakers and interviwees were also at times(but not always) tedious, repetitive and well...boring. Although there were some charismatic and captivating speakers as well. (my interest really peaked when Rod Serling began speaking!).

Still interested?...Okay here's what you get.....

Vol.1.."How Do UFOs Fly?"...This was the most amateurish of the five of the filming, but also the most scientifically presented. For myself I felt like a pre-schooler who wandered into a meeting of the 12th grade science club. Lots of diagrams and interviews theorizing on how interplanetory travel is possible.

Vol.2 "On the Trail of the UFOs"...examines the possibilites of how long aliens may have been visiting earth, why are they here, what are they trying to tell us, and presents much evidence and eyewitness reports that they have in fact been here.

Vol.3 "The Aliens' Experiments".....Deals with unanswered questions and reports of mutilated cows and livestock in remote farm areas. Footage of the dead animals and interviews with the farmers is included.

Vol.4 "Sightings and Coverups"...Okay now we're getting somewhere with this one...The amazing number of reports of sightings and video accounts and how the goverment has been covering up the facts since the Roswell incident is discussed.

Vol.5 "Extraterrestrial Contact" was the most captivating of the five. Intereviews with regular Joes and Janes that have had encounters(and whether you believe them or not, these accounts are interesting). Some were put under hypnosis and the information they shared about the solar system could only have been known by the most highly educated astronomers. There are also interviews with highly respected military officials who have been eye-witness to UFOs.

Each tape runs 45-55 minutes. Three stars for convincing me that "We Are Not Alone!".....enjoy...Laurie

Very disappointed! The quality of these videos are ... poor and the content was haphazardly strung together. Look elsewhere!
