AFTER READING VIEWERS COMMENTS OF BOOKS LIKE "SECRET SURVIVORS..", I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW DO THESE SURVIVORS DIG OUT THESE LOST MEMORIES, HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN THE DENIAL STOPS AND GET THE FEEL THAT IT ACTUALY HAPPEND? WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN YOU HAVE FLASHES BUT STILL, NO ACTUAL MEMORY? HELP ANYONE?? T.Z
I have had these awful memories haunt me for ten years. I went to massage school and being touched brought back these flashbacks and memories I'd known were always there, but had hid in the recesses of my mind. It's there but it not. It's very terrible to go through and I've doubted myself a million times. But after reading others experiences, I just KNOW. I've had to learn to trust myself and these experiences that have really happened to me. I've felt crazy and alone, but I know I'm not. Denial is a daily thing because it's really hard to admit these things happened. But in order to heal, you must.
Memories don't always come back, however if they do, they only come when you're mentally able to handle it. It took someone uttering a statement for a flood of memories to come back, the rest came through after seeing a therapist and I dug around in my family's closet to get to the skeleton out...the key is...you have to talk about it.
