5.0 out of 5 stars UFO's Are With Us, Take My Word, June 29, 2004
By

This review is from: UFOs Are with Us Take My Word (Paperback)
For a first time author and at 84, Leo is quite descriptive and tells it like is. He is very honest in his narrative and his memory is not faulty at all. I especially enjoyed the part where he and his brother goes into the UFO. I laughed out loud when his brother tried to out maneuver the chair! It was hilarious how the chair tried coming under him only to have the boy move at the last minute, giggling through out! A typical boy on a not so typical chair! Even the ET's laughed too. I recommend this book to adults as well as children. It is not frightening but tells a story of children coming across something not quite right but yet compelling them to try and understand the best way they can.

5.0 out of 5 stars a simple tale, January 27, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: UFOs Are with Us Take My Word (Paperback)
This story is so simple and heartfelt it's believable. It's a first person account of two small boys struggling mightily to make some sense of what they're experiencing. And considering their background and ages they do a pretty good job of it. It's a gentle tale, too. Nothing horrifying or scary, as in some contactee cases. These kind visitors from somewhere extend every effort to make the boys feel calm and invited.

What would prompt (short of derangement or fraud) an every day person with average writing skills such as Leo Dworshak to make the effort to record something like this? And venture into the taboo waters of being associated with the subject of UFOs. Any intent to launch a popular children's book with this story would certainly be misguided.

No, this is something deeply personal and compelling that Dworshak wanted to share.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than meets the eye...., July 6, 2008

The two other reader/reviewers give an excellent, concise summary and I heartily echo their impressions. I had the privilege to correspond with Mr Dworshak a time or two, and anxiously awaited the book he was in the process of writing and was saddened to learn that he had passed on. Don't let this slim volume with homey front cover mislead you. This account rings true of an EXTRAORDINARY encounter with beings whose identities though unknown, are nevertheless apparently deeply understanding of human nature and likewise profoundly and compassionately interested in the well being of planet earth and it's living inhabitants. A compelling read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting first hand narrative of contact with an "unknown", October 28, 2007

This review is from: UFOs Are with Us Take My Word (Paperback)
Charming account of a rural, depression era boy and his experience with an unknown craft and occupants. The down-to-earth style leaves the reader with a sense of what farm life was for a young boy during the Great Depression in the "Dust Bowl". With a sharp memory and unpretentious writing, Leo Dworshak's story is certainly credible. You may not have all of your questions about UFOs answered from reading this book, but I highly recommend that you treat yourself to this engaging little book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A profound experience devoid of guile!, April 29, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: UFOs Are with Us Take My Word (Paperback)
This small work rings true in that Leo Dworshak is telling of his multiple encounters in simple terms. He makes no effort to convince the reader of the reality of his experiences, which reinforces the feeling that what he and his brother witnessed was genuine. The surprise is that these events began in 1932! I very highly recommend this book to anyone who is making an effort to understand why the visitors come to this planet, and to those who may wish to have a glimpse of their powers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Entertainment, January 30, 2012
This review is from: UFOs Are with Us Take My Word (Paperback)
For such a small book it packs a big punch of entertainment for a true story.. Leo's description of his encounters along with his brother is simply amazing. This book not only gets you thinking, you'll also laugh, scratch your head in thought, and really begin to doubt the governments statements that UFO's aren't real. I love how the boys kept going back everyday hoping to see the spaceship, even though they had some fear and alot of questions and no one would believe them. I don't know if this could have happened to an adult who wasn't so innocent. This book is very well written, you'll get information, laughter, curious, and most of all something to think about for a long time to come. Bravo Leo, for a job well done, and sharring your life with others on a topic that is so contraversal. I received a complimentary copy of (UFO's Are with Us - Take My Word) as a member of the

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet read., December 11, 2011

This review is from: UFOs Are with Us Take My Word (Paperback)
I learned about this book from my neighbor when talking about the previous owner of my home. Turns out it was Leo, the author. Was thrilled I could purchase the book through Amazon to learn more about who preceded me. I was pleasantly surprised to read this sweet, simple and from the heart story. He is just telling what happened to him and doesn't seem to be trying to convince anyone. Whether you believe his story or not, there is a wonderful message of peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars UFOs Are with Us - Take His word, July 18, 2011
This review is from: UFOs Are with Us Take My Word (Paperback)
For many people today, the biggest question in life is not "Why am I here?" instead it is the question - "Is somebody else here with us?" With all the documentaries, movies, TV shows, books and videos documenting sightings and contact about UFOs and life on other worlds, one would think we would have a definitive answer by now. But somehow the level of fear of the unknown is so highly developed in human beings that we can easily ignore the tangible truth of the matter and unreasonably continue to fear it. A book that may be an answer to the question of "Is somebody here with us?" is the true life account of Leo Dworshak which is depicted in his book - UFOS Are with Us - Take My Word.

The book UFOs Are with Us - Take My Word by Leo Dworshak is a true account of his (and His brother Michael's) experiences with multiple UFO sightings and encounters. The book is well written and detailed. I found it to be captivating because of the subject matter. Anyone having a personal experience or curious about encounters with a UFO sighting or otherwise will find this book to be an interesting read. The book begins with Mr. Dworshak and his first encounter as a very young man of twelve in the woods of North Dakota. On a summer's day romp in the woods Leo and his brother Michael see a very large unidentifiable object in a valley, unable to get into close proximity they are only able to marvel at the object at a distance. The initial encounter turned out to be one of many intermittent sightings and face to face encounters that span over Leo Dworshak's lifetime.

Eventually Leo and Michael come to consider the visitors as close friends and vice-versa. Through the meetings with the visitors who turn out to be quite friendly, Leo and his brother are made privy to information about the world at large, life on this planet, the purpose for their repeated visits to earth and their way of life. This book is not very long but it is a great read and I do recommend it to anyone that may be curious or interested in UFOs. As a side note, Mr. Dworshak has written this book as a biographical account, some people may find this hard to swallow but true or not there is a deeply embedded message for mankind to heed in this story. On a scale of one to five, I rate this book a five.
