Book Description

April 10, 2005
This is a book that answers all the ancient philosophical questions: about the good, the right, the true, the nature of mind and soul, divinity, immortality, and free will. It does so not by windy argument, but by the discoveries of the forbidden sciences created by Toynbee, William James, C.G. Jung, Dr. Humphrey, and many others. For every question, there is some realm of experience which can provide an answer, using the essence of scientific method: reproducibility and ruling out the alternatives. If you want to know the solution to the classical problem of evil, don't ask a theologian; ask a mystic, one who has experienced cosmic consciousness, and has seen the pattern that runs through all things. These new sciences are forbidden in the universities, but they flourish, nonetheless, including the study of UFOs. Are they real? Why don't they make contact? How is it possible to jump hundreds of lightyears in an instant? If ETs are at all common, why didn't they colonize the Earth? The answers to these questions provide the unifying theme of this book, our own journey to the stars by levitation and teleportation. We take our first step to those powers by attaining spiritual maturity. We begin our spiritual evolution by learning the answers to the perennial philosophical questions. If it seems impossible to do all this in 280 pages, then read carefully, for Dr.H does not waste words or repeat himself. If you think it impossible in any number of pages, read his chapter on "The Function of Philosophy." Dr.H knows what that is, while those who scoff are often mere sophists or professional skeptics.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

This is an iconoclastic book, like all those published by AUP. It is contrary to accepted textbook dogma on almost every point. Intelligence is the ability to learn from experience, even things that will smash your worldview. This is a book for intelligent readers, those willing to leave behind conventional notions, and take the Adventure Unlimited.

From the Author

I recommend skipping around in this book. Look at the table of contents and start with things that interest you most. Save the "I don't believe it" chapters for last, or ignore them altogether.

4.0 out of 5 stars Strays Way Far Afield But Interesting Nonetheless, December 7, 2006
By
Eddie Watkins (Philadelphia, PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: UFOs, PSI, and Spiritual Evolution (Paperback)
Do not be under the impression that this book is about the title.

But then don't decide not to buy it because it's not about the title.

It is one of the more entertaining (and exhilarating) books I've read of late. The author is clearly his own man and presents a wealth of ideas in a wildly haphazard fashion. His take on UFOs is of interest, and I would've liked to've heard more, but instead of developing his ideas on the subject he launches into tangent after tangent never to return.

His basic premise is that UFOs are from a spiritually evolved race (or races), and that if we are to enter into the trans-dimensional fun we must spiritually evolve ourselves. And how do we do this? We strive, as a society, to realize his utopia which isn't a utopia. The bulk of the book is a description (with tangents, of course) of this utopia (which isn't a utopia).

While reading about his take on the right to bear arms -- that we should only be allowed muskets or blunderbusses because the large clouds of black smoke they generate would make it impossible for snipers to secretly shoot us -- I found myself curiously interested, but I also found myself wondering what it had to do with UFOs and Psi.

3.0 out of 5 stars "Be Your Own Experiment", July 5, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: UFOs, PSI, and Spiritual Evolution (Paperback)
I enjoyed this book, and got a lot of helpful ideas from it. My gripe with it is that it is a tad on the unorganized side and readers might have been better served if perhaps the topics covered were further developed and written as books of their own. That said, again, there were some very interesting things in here. I had never heard of the "Evolved Tarot" and the whole story of the spiritual work-group from which that came, for example. THAT story would make a good book (and it would be nice if that Tarot deck were more readily available). Dr. Humphrey (philosophy) does go into some depth on the import of the symbolism of that Tarot. He has an interesting take on the work of Arnold Toynbee. He also frequently harps on the problems of scientism; something I'm always happy to see (up with science, down with the Science-priesthood!). Overall, reading the book is kind of like having a long one-sided conversation with a smart old uncle who's been around and has got some compelling and liberating ideas sprinkled with a smidgeon of underlying disappointment. If you're up for that, you'll probably like this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars How Mankind May go to the Stars, June 7, 2005
This review is from: UFOs, PSI, and Spiritual Evolution (Paperback)
This is quite simply the only practical way to go to the stars. Yes, by levitation and teleportation. Physics does not provide any basis for a technology of star travel.
