4.0 out of 5 stars Strays Way Far Afield But Interesting Nonetheless
Do not be under the impression that this book is about the title.

But then don't decide not to buy it because it's not about the title.

It is one of the more entertaining (and exhilarating) books I've read of late. The author is clearly his own man and presents a wealth of ideas in a wildly haphazard fashion. His take on UFOs is of interest, and I...

3.0 out of 5 stars "Be Your Own Experiment"
I enjoyed this book, and got a lot of helpful ideas from it. My gripe with it is that it is a tad on the unorganized side and readers might have been better served if perhaps the topics covered were further developed and written as books of their own. That said, again, there were some very interesting things in here. I had never heard of the "Evolved Tarot" and the...

Do not be under the impression that this book is about the title.

But then don't decide not to buy it because it's not about the title.

It is one of the more entertaining (and exhilarating) books I've read of late. The author is clearly his own man and presents a wealth of ideas in a wildly haphazard fashion. His take on UFOs is of interest, and I would've liked to've heard more, but instead of developing his ideas on the subject he launches into tangent after tangent never to return.

His basic premise is that UFOs are from a spiritually evolved race (or races), and that if we are to enter into the trans-dimensional fun we must spiritually evolve ourselves. And how do we do this? We strive, as a society, to realize his utopia which isn't a utopia. The bulk of the book is a description (with tangents, of course) of this utopia (which isn't a utopia).

While reading about his take on the right to bear arms -- that we should only be allowed muskets or blunderbusses because the large clouds of black smoke they generate would make it impossible for snipers to secretly shoot us -- I found myself curiously interested, but I also found myself wondering what it had to do with UFOs and Psi.

I enjoyed this book, and got a lot of helpful ideas from it. My gripe with it is that it is a tad on the unorganized side and readers might have been better served if perhaps the topics covered were further developed and written as books of their own. That said, again, there were some very interesting things in here. I had never heard of the "Evolved Tarot" and the whole story of the spiritual work-group from which that came, for example. THAT story would make a good book (and it would be nice if that Tarot deck were more readily available). Dr. Humphrey (philosophy) does go into some depth on the import of the symbolism of that Tarot. He has an interesting take on the work of Arnold Toynbee. He also frequently harps on the problems of scientism; something I'm always happy to see (up with science, down with the Science-priesthood!). Overall, reading the book is kind of like having a long one-sided conversation with a smart old uncle who's been around and has got some compelling and liberating ideas sprinkled with a smidgeon of underlying disappointment. If you're up for that, you'll probably like this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars How Mankind May go to the Stars, June 7, 2005
This review is from: UFOs, PSI, and Spiritual Evolution (Paperback)
This is quite simply the only practical way to go to the stars. Yes, by levitation and teleportation. Physics does not provide any basis for a technology of star travel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Answers Many Different Questions about topics in title, March 24, 2005

This review is from: UFOs, PSI, and Spiritual Evolution (Paperback)
Having been able to pre-read this book before it came out I have to say that this is one of those definite eye-openers that really hits home regarding the topics it covers. I have personally corresponded with Dr. Humphrey and am continually amazed at his depth and perspicuity of the topics he has explained to me. These topics are rather deep and do require an open mind regarding them. If you have a hard time stomaching these topics then I would suggest you go elsewhere. However, if you really want to know the truth then buy this book and open a whole new vista to the meaning of life, PSI, and Spiritual Evolution and bring some peace back into your life. Also, his take on why we have extra-terrestrial visitors is definitely right on the mark! Enjoy the read, and if you want to find out more about him visit his website:

www.interstellar-travel.info

This will answer your questions and also provide some other reading and materials more indepth than what is in his book. Also, the reader above, from his comments, looks like he didn't read through the book completely.

5.0 out of 5 stars Main themes, September 3, 2009
This review is from: UFOs, PSI, and Spiritual Evolution (Paperback)
Ufos travel by levitation and apports, powers of the mind. We know from Prof. Ian Stevenson's lifelong work that reincarnation is real; therefore the mind is not the brain. I once inadvertently apported as I started to fall off the roof of my house and I have witnessed levitation. So I know these powers are real. How do we develop them? Clues are found in the overall behavior of UFOs. None have wanted to make official contact. None carry any weapons, and they can partially paralyze a human who reaches for a weapon. Enrico Fermi thought if there were ETs, they would colonize the Earth. The fact that they didn't and don't provides a clue. It suggests only spiritually advanced humanoids can develop advanced PSI powers. That is our course as well if we ever wish to become star travelers.
