Important! Slimmer update to UGG Ascot...
on January 2, 2015
I got a pair of these UGG Alder slippers for my dad because I've had a pair of UGG Ascots for many years and they have served me well so I wanted to get my dad a pair of UGG's too. Since my dad doesn't always wear socks, I decided to get these Alders for him since they don't have fur throughout the insides like the Ascots do so hopefully they wouldn't get as funky as fur lined slippers would. When my dad tried them on he said the length was ok but they were too tight around the middle. I compared them to my Ascots and thought they looked smaller/thinner and indeed the sole itself was slimmer on the Alders. I looked around and finally saw on the product description that the Alders are 'A slimmer iteration of the iconic Ascot...', which I hadn't noticed before- I thought the Alders were just a fur-less version of the Ascot. Long story short, these are going back because they're just too slim and we're going to keep looking for some nice slippers so if you've worn the Ascots, beware that these Alders are noticeably slimmer. Conversely, if you tried the Alder and they were too thin, you might like the Ascot which is roomier. Note- I wear a 9.5 shoe and when I first tried on the size 10 Ascots I thought they would have to go back because they were too tight, but after wearing them for a week or so the fur matted down and they roomed up considerably.
