ULTIMATE GAME CASE FOR DS LITE (NINTENDO DS)

I got this before studying abroad in hopes to cut down on the bulk of things I'm packing, This case is great to use, holding my games safely while traveling and easy access too. I had no use of the small area meant to hold an extra battery and a small screwdriver, but I'm still glad that I got this for my games.

And just to warn, no, it's not meant to hold the actual DS, lite or otherwise, just the games.

I got this because I don't like keeping all my DS games in separate boxes that don't fit quite right on my game shelf with all the empty space they leave behind above them. To date I had just kept the cards stacked in a pile like they were a pile of quarters. It just took a few times knocking them over and almost losing a few to prompt me to get a case. Most cases only carry 2 or 3 games, which seems reasonable for travel. I bought this because a pair of them would hold every game I've got.

This case is pretty big to carry around, about the size of a small pocket paperback book. It's not on the product page, but it's 163mm x 92mm x 24mm. But, again, holding 8 DS games + 3 GBA games wouldn't be for light travel anyway. There is no real joint on this: it's just a slab of plastic that with time opening and closing the case I would expect to get real thin and eventually break. At least it's double disconnected so you only have to flex the plastic a total of 90 degrees on each side to lay it open flat on a table.

It's really HARD to open at first but then the hold gets progressively weaker. It must wear like the "joint" would in the future. I dropped (about 60 cm) it open and half of the things popped out. Ok, no biggie. I dropped it CLOSED and it sprang open with half the things popping out again. Definitely wouldn't want to bring it traveling.

Personally I would have liked a fourth GBA slot instead of an extra battery considering that you can't replace the battery without a SMALL cross screwdriver and the case doesn't even come with one yet the slots in the case are there for a screwdriver of a very specific size. While getting rid of the battery slot and screwdriver slot, another stylus holder would be nice. Also worth noting is that only the original DS stylus will fit.

Overall it's pretty disappointing.

I purchased this for my daughter as she has a lot of games and I wanted a safe place for them. She immediately had a problem. Her Nintendo DS lite games snapped into the compartments just fine, but it was almost impossible to get them out again without breaking the actual game or manhandling the end of the game that you're not supposed to touch. With her hovering nervously nearby I ended up using a plastic knife to prize them back out but obviously this is not practical. We sent it back. I would not recommend this item.

overall this game case is pore quality the games don't stay in place and it dosen't close nicely

This case is mainly for the regular DS, not the DS Lite.

I have a DS Lite, so the battery is a little different than the battery for the regular DS. The DS Lite battery does fit in the case (although when I opened it for the first time, I didn't think it would). There is a raised plastic outline that is supposed to hold the battery extra securely, but since the DS Lite battery is smaller, it is just held by two clips, rather than the entire outline.

The DS Lite stylus is a little longer than the DS stylus. So, my extra DS Lite stylus DOES NOT fit. I'm sure I could trim my stylus down or get an extra regular DS stylus somewhere, but I'm not getting the DS Lite stylus in this sucker.

The box doesn't have a hinged connection. It's just one of those solid bending plastic hinges. This isn't a problem right now, but over years of use, I could see it splitting. Right now, they seem pretty strong, so I'm not anticipating them dying any time soon.

Except for the problems noted above, it's a pretty good box for the price. It holds 8 DS games, 3 GBA games, an extra DS (or DS Lite) battery, screwdriver and extra regular DS stylus. I haven't had the problems others have said about the games getting stuck or being hard to get out. They are held firmly, but not too firmly.

I'd still recommend it more than most of the other cases I've seen.

I really like all the slots for your Ds and advance games, it really cuts down your carrying load!

the product shipped well and timely, the material plastic is not clear (as the picture looks) but rather is solid white.. and the material does feel cheaply made, but it serves it's purpose fine (note the extra battery does not sit nicely in it and the extra stylus holder is for a short style stylus, not the ones that came with my DS Lite).

This is an awesome storage case for DS, especially if you have any old Advance games--it will store three of those. It has been great for my son.

This is a great case that holds DS games plus Game Boy advance games. The Nintendo DS Lite plays Game Boy Advance games also. So this is a great case because it will hold both kinds of games so they are all in one place.

For all of my game systems, I usually search for a compact way to store my games together. When I got a DS, I of course began a similar search. After looking through most of the cases available on Amazon and elsewhere, it seems as though this is the only case which holds a reasonably large number of DS games (8) in a form factor compact enough to fit in a pocket. I actually own 3 of them at this point to hold my game collection so that I don't need to open two dozen game boxes to rearrange what I'm taking with me.

The only flaws that you might worry about in the case are: 1) the friction fitting for the DS games will get worse over time and 2) you pull games out by the connector end. The loosening of the fittings will eventually cause the case to hold less well when tossed or otherwise subjected to sudden jolts. The pulling out by the connector end may cause some people to be taken aback, but in the three years that I've been using this case (and its DS fat predecessor) I've never had any issue.
