Ultrasone’s patented S-Logic natural surround sound system is a revolutionary advance in how we listen to headphones. How Does S-Logic Work?
The outer ear, or pinnea, allows us to perceive distance and direction when we hear sounds in the real world. As sounds come into the ear, they bounce off the folds and peaks of our outer ear creating cues that help our brains figure out where the sound came from and how far away it is. Ultrasone headphones with patented S-Logic are the first headphones to utilize your entire ear, including the pinnea, in the listening experience. Through the use of decentralized driver positioning, S-Logic headphones aim the sound at the pinnea instead of directly down the ear canal. The sound does not go directly down you ear canal as with conventional headphones, but instead filters off the outer ear as you listen. By doing this, your perception of distance, depth and instrument placement are greatly enhanced. You can hear the mix exactly as the engineer heard it in the studio. Your ears are very sensitive, so you should take extra care of them especially when listening to headphones. An added benefit of S-Logic technology is an up to 40% (3-4dB) drop in SPL (sound pressure levels) for the same perceived volume. The Ultrasone Proline 2500 throw a unique, spherical headstage, with each instrument/vocal anchored solidly in 3-D space. They offer a dynamic, engaging (somewhat in-your-face) presentation, nicely balanced across the frequency spectrum, with just the right mix of analytic and holistic/synergistic qualities. Stellar midrange clarity--vocals are a pure, straight-ahead delight--and plenty of deep, foundational bass, too!
The 2500 don't do one or two things remarkably well, but they seem to do everything reasonably well. Though not as refined as the Sennheiser HD650, nor as detailed and extended as the Beyerdynamic DT880, nor as fleet as the AKG K701, there's something solid and arresting about the 2500 that makes it hard for me to take them off. The Proline 2500 take a good while to break in. Patiently allow about 300+ hours for these excellent cans to really show what they are capable of. As much as I enjoyed the 2500, I liked the 750 even better--but I kept both. : ) If you're patient, you can pick up a good deal on these, for about $275-$299.

I use this headphone to watch movies in my bedroom (full theater setup)and it feels comfortable and sounds great.
Great dynamic range and they are so nice that you forget you have them on, as long as you are sitting up - if you plan on lying down with your head on a pillow, you may feel them slightly as with all headphones. I don't know about the radiation they claim other headphones emit and they shield against. Pricey, but you get what you pay for 8-)
