This glycerin product has a whopping total of 250 mg of phytoplankton in the whole bottle!
To get an idea how this scam works note the clever language on the bottle- "each ml of liquid contains extract from 250mg of UMAC marine phytoplankton"- (contains extract from???- that means 250 in the whole bottle!! go ahead and try and find real numbers from UMAC about what quantities of anything are actually in the bottle) this is an embarrassingly low dose of phytoplankton even compared to other brands - which are, frankly, also sugar-water placebo scams.
I have been studying natural nutrition for years and I am always saddened to see people looking for real help getting scammed.
Please do not give these people your money. If you really want to believe in something, believe in your own natural and real ability to heal. Realize that the pharmaceutical industry spends billions trying to beat a placebo effect in the laboratory and more often than not loses to the sugar pill (or in this case sugar liquid). UMAC is just harnessing the placebo effect for their own benefit and your $$ loss.
Marine phytoplankton is the newest scam in the superfood world and UMAC is the worst of the bunch. The only thing nice I can say is that it is also the cheapest.
I dont want to take away anything from people who are giving positive testimonials- in fact I want to give them the credit for their health turn around- not UMAC.
As Dennis Tagrin of DT's Plankton Farm (who raises MP for aquarium products) told me, "I feel that phytoplankton for human consumption is a scam and will not be involved."
Save your money! There are cold pressed fish oils, flax, hemp and coconut products out there that can provide real benefit for a fraction of the cost.
Best wishes to all- even the people selling this junk : )

I have researched marine phytoplankton extensively, and I have been taking this for 6 years. This particular phytoplankton is the exact same one used in ZMP 400 and FrequenSea by Forever Green [ ZMP400 also includes zeolite] This high quality type of multi-species plankton is the same as what it is in UMAC, as it comes from the same source, Unique Sea Farms. After trying many natural products this is the first that ever improved the severe arthritis pain in my neck, which was caused when I was rear ended by a drunk driver, resulting in a broken 5th cervical. Prior to discovering this type of marine phytoplankton, I had ongoing daily chronic pain in my neck for over 30 years, until this dramatically improved it. I also gave this to my dog when she developed arthritis in her hips at age 14, and could no longer climb up the stairs or even go up 2 stairs to get back into the house. After only a few weeks she was climbing the stairs again and running around the back yard like she used to do.

The negative post by Funky Buddha which claims that this is a “scam”, has been responded to by Harry S. Aust, apparently affiliated with UMAC. He stated:

“What we do is break the cell wall of the plant and extract the nutrients. Our bodies do not digest the cellulose cell wall. most of the pigments are located in that cell wall, and when you break it, you lose some pigment. What you really want are the nutrients inside..so we extract them ( they are microscopic) and centrifuge them with water and a little organic glycerin. You are getting the extract from 3,000,000 cells in each dose. UMAC phytoplankton contains up to 200 different species ( there are thousands of species and many colors too!) we grow it "wild' in seawater with natural sunlight. We are the only company that does that--Those other companies are making one single species ( they picked the 1 species with the most chlorophyll) they grow it in synthetic seawater in a bioreactor, Plus they don't break the cell wall, that is why it is so green. I don't know about you, but I like my phyto to be as close to Mother Nature as possible. We are also the only company with a clinical study on UMAC. Also, you are getting a much more diverse array of nutrients ingesting 200 species as opposed to 1 single species. Hope this helps! Thank you :) “
As you can see by my comments regarding my own dog, Elizabeth Elder stated in her comment reply [below] to the negative post by Funky Buddha, that her dog also received obvious positive benefits, which would be logically impossible if this was a “placebo effect”, as claimed by Funky Buddha:

“Well, take this under consideration. I originally bought this from reviews based on helping pets. My Basset Hound was (emphasis on the "WAS") plagued with chronic allergy and skin conditions. He had to be on prednisone (a drug used for about everything really, but horrible side effects), hydroxizine (like benadryll), and special allergy food from the vet that went for $80/bag. After about a month on this product, put on his food in the morning, his allergies got better, he's weaned off of medication, and now on regular (and much cheaper!) food.

Now, think about this. THIS IS A DOG. My best friend. And yet, you can't even begin to tell me that after being on medication for 5 years, that after a month the road to recovery was finally found, I would have never believed it if I didn't see it with my own eyes.

Placebo effect? Also, I say again, THIS IS A DOG. I'm not really sure how he'd go about lying to me, magically hiding red lesions, odor, and being overly lethargic. I take the product myself now I'm the morning, and I can't even take a 2pm nap if I wanted to.”

Great stuff, tastes way better than all other MArine phytoplankton products. Can't necessarily comment on feeling any better with it vs. other products because it's nutritional effects are subtle to notice.. Feel good now!
