About the Author

Kaveh L. Afrasiabi, Ph.D. is a renowned political scientist and author of several books, book chapters, and numerous articles on international affairs in academic journals and international newspapers, including the New York Times, Guardian, Der Tagespiegel, Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, Boston Globe, etc. Afrasiabi's writings have appeared in Middle East Journal, Harvard International Review, Harvard Theological Review, Global Dialogue, Brown's Journal of World Affairs, Mediterannean Affairs, Journal of International Affairs, etc. Afrasiabi has taught at Tehran University and Boston University, and is a former consultant on UN Program on Dialogue Among Civilizations, as well as former researcher at Harvard University, University of California at Berkeley, Center For Strategic Research, and Institute For Strategic Studies (Paris). He is a regular contributor to UN Chronicle and Asia Times.
