Fun way to start the college search!,
By tk (NY, NY, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: THE U: UNCUT - College Tour DVD Box Set (DVD)
These DVDs are awesome!! So much better than the brochures from colleges that show only the best parts of the school without any of the bad stuff. I like hearing students talk about their real life on campus- the party scenes, the general attitudes (competitive or laid-back), if there are cool professors.... stuff like that. I've started considering schools I hadn't thought of before after watching these videos. And getting a whole profile of a school in 15 minutes is way easier than trying to visit all of these places. WAY MORE FUN than reading those awful books that don't tell me anything but statistics. The best $50 I've spent in awhile...

What a great product!!,
This review is from: THE U: UNCUT - College Tour DVD Box Set (DVD)
I was unsure of where I wanted to go to college, and I did not want to drag my parents to lame tours all over the USA. So I bought this box set of DVDs and it was so rad. It has insight from real students of 50 big name colleges and shows you what no college tour will: the party scene, the truth about teachers, student population, etc. I recommend this to any high school senior who wants an insider's look into what a school is like before you go.

The Reality of College,
By Tyresius (Houston, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: THE U: UNCUT - College Tour DVD Box Set (DVD)
Applying for college is not a fun process. It's a lot like shooting blindly in the dark and unless you know someone who went to a certain school (and who doesn't have a vested interest in boosting a school's rep) you generally have no0 clue what to expect. The U pulls no punches and interviews real students who aren't afraid to talk about good and bad. It talks about everything from what the professor's are like to the comfort factor to hook-up and paints a picture for you that you might not get anywhere else. If you want real answers this is the place to go.
