Good Mouth Guard for the Money, June 16, 2011
I have used a lot of mouth guards throughout my life, but hadn't used one in the past few years until recently. I bought this mouth guard originally just because it was a decent price. However, I was presently surprised that the guard actually has breathing holes on the front side of the guard that allow you to continue breathing while keeping your teeth clenched. This was the first time I'd seen a mouth guard like that and I am a big fan of that.
The molding of this mouth guard is similar to that of others, boil and fit then cool. However, this was easier than most to mold correctly because the white section you see in the image is actually a softer material that can form easier around your teeth. I was able to get a nice tight fit the first time I molded it.
The one negative I had with the mouth guard was that I left it in my gym bag of my car on a hot day. When I went to use the mouth guard, the fit was no longer tight and I eventually had to reform it with the boiling process. I was able to get it to fit again, but I leave my bag in my car a lot so it is a bit inconvenient that it can lose it's form so easily.
Other than that it's done a good job.
