Decent headband though a bit pricey,

I purchased this headband for use in my kickboxing class in which the instructor likes to keep the heat on between 80 to 85 degrees so I'm constantly wiping sweat out of my face. I use an Under Armour heat-gear compression shirt and that works wonders in wicking away sweat from my body. However, this sweat band doesn't really do too great of a job probably because it's a pretty thin strip of material although I do wipe my face maybe 40% less than I do without it. I also purchased the regular Under Armour cotton headband and it honestly does a much better job at half the price so I'd recommend that or any other cotton headband over this one.

Much better than any others I've tried,

Edit: My latest order of this product arrived and it's completely different from earlier versions. Old product was a thick woven porus headband, new product is a thin strip of polyester. Haven't tried it yet but didn't want this review to mislead. Apparently, they don't make the old headband anymore which I found so effective in my review.
I've always sweated a lot particularly during tennis or step arobics. My standard cotton based headbands would always be soaked by the end of class and I'd sometimes takes two headbands and swap out halfway through. I've probably tried at least six different brands of various compositions and they all had this problem. In my continuing search for a better headband, I tried under armour and have never gone back. It has some wicking/evaporating capability that keeps it from becoming saturated yet draws sweat away efficiently. I now have about four of these and rotate/wash them between activities. They also come out of the washer virtually dry. Don't know why they're so superior other than they have no cotton at all, which tends to hold water and saturate rapidly. May not be an issue for light perspirers (glisteners?) but these are the only ones that work for me. |
