Great love story -- with the bonus of a ghost,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Haunting of Josie (Loveswept) (Mass Market Paperback)
I jumped right into this book and didn't want to put it down until I finished. Josie is a strong woman who has the appearance of someone fragile. Her past is haunted by tragedy and her present is haunted by a ghost. Marc, her temporary landlord, is a remarkably strong but gentle and compassionate soul who is able to help her find all the answers she is seeking. The "familiar" cat is an extraordinary secondary character and unquestionably keeps the story moving. I felt that the sexual scenes were really sensual and contain feelings of caring and intimacy that remained with me to the end of the book. It was a wonderful feeling to have past tragedy end on such a warm and happy note. It was a very satisfying read.

NOT UP TO KH's STANDARDS!,
This review is from: The Haunting of Josie (Mass Market Paperback)
The Haunting of Josie was such a disappointment to me. I love her work, her story lines, her characters, her paranormal plots, etc. but I was SO unhappy with this one. I had pre-ordered it. I waited anxiously for it. When it was delivered I actually set aside the book I WAS reading so I could jump right into KH's newest book. I knew something might be wrong when I saw that it was only 240 pages vs. her usual 380+. The plot stunk, the characters weren't fleshed out, (nor were they interesting), the "haunting" part was so minimal as to hardly be worth mentioning in the title, and there wasn't any suspense whatsoever. The passion between Josie and Marc was dull and ordinary romance novel drivel. KH is one of my favorite authors, I love her work! But this one is definitely worth skipping or finding somewhere you can read it for free or cheaply if you just have to read it because it's a KH book. Absolutely, definitely, NOT worth the price of buying it.

This is one of Kay Hooper's best books. I have read practically all of her books. She's great!

I liked the story line, it was a really nice read. I would like to know what the outcome was on the female subjects research, it didn't finish that side of the story, which was the whole reason she was there.

I couldn't believe how boring this was. I love Kay Hooper so I'll just chalk this one up as a bad read.

This was a good story which I read in less than two hours. Unfortunately, it was not the best of the author's works, but it had its charm with romance, suspense, & a ghost.

Good book but I've read better from her,

The story wasn't bad it's just that I read her book "Finding Laura" and found that to be much better. Josie's love interest Marc the lawyer I found to be more irritating as opposed to loving and amorous. What woman in her right man would want a man to constantly nag her about her past and why she can't give herself to him sxually after meeting him in 1 week? The plot regarding the ghost in the house and the mysterious cat I found to be somewhat cliche but yet it still worked. And I think that's because Kay is a good writer. An amateur writer would have made this storyline plot sound more chessier. Overall good story.

The book was okay, but not one of her best. It was the first of Hooper's books to be a disappointment. I will keep reading her books though, most are very good.

As with all of Kay Hoopers reads, I found this one to be an intriguing story, touched by a precious romance. Marc helps Josie unravel the mystery of visiting ghost, 'Luke' ... and all he represents. I am never disappointed with this author, and neither will you be.

I enjoyed this book, it is a paranormal romance and is a light read compared to the Bishop series she does.
