5.0 out of 5 stars I couldn't put it down!
I read this book in two hours it was easy to read and interresting. So far I've read it three times and I plan to read it again. The way she developes her characters is very well done, and the plot is great. It is a great introduction to fantasy for younger readers.

5.0 out of 5 stars First Fantasy Book, July 13, 2010
This review is from: THE UNICORN HUNT (First Quest) (Mass Market Paperback)
I first read this book when I was about 9years old. I loved it then, it was my first real fantasy book, before then I'd been confined to reading what my parents told me to read and any books I picked up out of the kids section that met with their approval!

Well, long story short, my brother brought this book home from the Library for me one day at random from the Young Adult section. I started on it and finished it within a few hours. It was the best book I'd ever read, I can still remember how it opens...

With them sitting in class, and the boy Kerigan, I believe...) is daydreaming about the map and the windchimes interrupt him and he is back in class...Wow, talk about nostalgia!

I read the book again (I NEVER re-read books, no matter how much I enjoyed them) when I was 15 and plan to pick the book up again from the library to take with me on vacation tomorrow.

Anyway, my point it, this was an enjoyable book. Not just for a child (I was an "advanced" reader) but for anyone. Especially anyone who wants an enjoyable, light read.

I still remember soo much of this book. I get all tingly just remembering it.

4.0 out of 5 stars lovely, March 14, 2002
This review is from: THE UNICORN HUNT (First Quest) (Mass Market Paperback)
A well written, easy to read fantasy. It has that real-magic feel that's hard to find. As the "first quest" series title suggests, there is a definite Moral, "be yourself," which gets a little heavy-handed before the end but doesn't take away much from how enjoyable this book is.
