I have shared it with friends to try and they like it, too.

It is still the same laundry detergent, and we still use it in the same Miele washing machine.

I was very hesitant to order this at first, but I'm so glad I did! I love this detergent.

I only need to use a heaping tablespoon of powder in my HE washing machine and my clothes come out fresh and clean. With 5 daughters we have no short supply of laundry, especially since the three youngest ones sometimes go through two or three outfits in one day. I run at least two loads of laundry every day and one box of Persil lasts six months to a year, compared with a similar sized box of Tide that only lasts 8 weeks if I'm lucky.

I used Tide HE in my new Miele HE washer for a few months with poor results. I used smaller and smaller amounts of Tide, but clothes kept coming out sticky with soap that didn't rinse out, and the washer would often halt in the middle of a cycle because it detected too much suds. Miele recommends Persil, so I gave it a try, and I'm so glad I did-- it does a great job.

I use a few of tablespoons of Persil, and it always rinses clean. I can see through the window of my washer that Persil makes suds, but not enough to cause any problems (after almost two years of use now.) Also, the fragrance is very light and pleasant. I use Downy-unscented fabric softener, as I don't usually like fragrances in soap, but Persil's fragrance is very nice.

I've found Persil to be expensive to buy at my local appliance store or at [...]-- I've gotten the best price at Amazon.

I love white sheets, they are so much work to maintain but, to me, they are worth it. When I first get them they feel and look amazing and the first wash is a sad occasion because I know after they go into the washer, they will never be as white as they once were. I have tried several products and ways of washing them to see what works and this is now my favorite. Does it restore them to their brand new sparkling whiteness? No, but it has been the most effective with the least amount of work.

I have two sets of Macy's Hotel Collection Sheets they are my favorite! nd I change them out every two weeks. This way I have two weeks to procrastinate washing my sheets. BTW, I have tried several, PB, RH, RL and, to me, these are superior. If you are interested, their Egyptian Cotton Sheets are incredibly soft and smooth and they do great when washed. There is no pilling and they seem to get softer with each wash... if only they got whiter as well... But I digress...

These sheets are not exactly cheap so I try to keep them in good shape as long as I can. I have hard water so this does not help my cause at all. My most recent method of washing them was soaking them overnight in Oxy-Boost, (I like that its eco friendly and is supposed to be more concentrated than oxy-clean) sometimes using either Borax or Carbona for water softening, then doing a quick wash with a blueing agent. If you have a deep affection for your sheets then you have already read that softener will clog the cotton fibers and hot water and the heat from the dryer will damage them. If you are looking at this product then its safe to assume you are also aware of the horrors of bleach. So I do not do any of these things to my beloved sheets.

I am from Europe, so moving here and using Tide as the "best available" was not good. I am very, very happy that I can have Persil in my home here.Persil is simply the best.

I lived most of this year in London, a city with some of the hardest, limey-est water I have ever used. Persil is available in the UK in a phosphate or non-phosphate version (much to my surprise as phosphates have been banned here for decades) and my clothes were so clean when washed in Persil. Combine it with Vanish stain remover and I removed old, set-in grease marks that would have forced me to toss or rag-bag clothes here in US. I've just gotten my jumbo box of Persil, the kind they call "bio" in UK as it is low in phosphates and I am looking forward to saving a shirt I spilled salsa on and couldn't get clean w/ US stain removers and detergent. Will post an update if performance is not as expected.

update: just finished box but also used up a jumbo box of Gain from my daughter and some liquid detergent from my son when they moved out. I love my Persil. Unfortunately it doesn't have the same kick as the non-bio from Europe and I'm scouting around to see if I can find some. The other big negative is the price. Husband was horrified at a $60 box of detergent. Come on Miele - we paid 20% VAT on this product in UK and it was still half the price. If you can sell the washers here, sell the detergent for a reasonable price and you'll have a customer for life. clipping it 2 stars for price and performance.

I can vouch for and echo everything KDK said. I also have 5 kids and my box lasted 9 months! I'm laughing because at first I thought "why does mine last longer?", then realized - because I have 4 boys and only 1 daughter! Funny because it's true. Washing, buying or caring for boys (clothes) is simply simple compared to the complex world of (us) women. :)

Whatever you are washing, Persil is terrific. We have definitely washed more than 80 loads from a box. A teaspoon or small coffee scoop is all you need with a front loading machine. I discovered Persil when entered the world of HE washers after a lifetime (and 15 years) with regular ones. The horror stories about mold and musty smell on laundry were awful. Some people claimed their washers were ruined with no recourse. Some places said the cause is the small amount of water used doesn't flush the machine's interior properly and that somehow (I am definitely no technician) this creates a dampness like any closed, damp space does. I was advised to 1) always leave the washer door open when not used and to keep a towel handy (I leave one hanging over the open door) to always wipe the moisture from the door and seal. and 2) use low sudsing detergent specifically made for HE machines (the less suds the better). Persil has been popular in Europe a while and was highly recommended. It's only been 9 months but so far so good, especially considering the reported problems seemed to appear within a few months.
