Richard Buchko has been a reader and writer of science-fiction since he bought a battered copy of SCIENCE-FICTION ADVENTURE CLASSICS for twenty-five cents back in 1972. Those reprints of the 1950's classic short stories, followed by influences from such masters as Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, and a little later Douglas Adams and Philip Jose Farmer, started a factory of ideas and plotlines that will never be fully realized. "But I'll try", he said. THE UNIVERSE - FROM AN OUTSIDER'S PERSPECTIVE is his tribute to all those short story writers, the peddlers of ideas whose time may some day come.
Richard Buchko lives in Michigan with his Julie, his lovely wife of 17 years, and their three children Marc (future artist), James (future chef) and Karen (future hockey player).

GREAT ANTHOLOGY,

This review is from: THE UNIVERSE- AN OUTSIDER'S PERSPECTIVE (Paperback)
Not a long book, but really takes me back to when SF short stories were fun to read, enjoyable, thought-provoking - worthwhile; not that psychological pretentious stuff you find today. Not a throw back - a triumph for good story-telling!

Great Read,

This review is from: THE UNIVERSE- AN OUTSIDER'S PERSPECTIVE (Paperback)
Although different from Secret Enemies (which was great) this book will stand as a testament to short stories. A clever blend of original works and classic pieces, this book gives the reader a glimpse into a great contemporary literary mind. It's refreshing to see classic works handled with such obvious love and care. The selected pieces blend so well with the author's original works, the piece is seamless.Highly recommended...add this to your classic sci-fi collection!
