Too disjointed to be really useful, February 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: UNIX Security (Sys Admin-Essential Reference Series) (Paperback)
Some good information, but the book is too disjointed to be really useful. It's a collection of separate articles by various authors. There is no index, making it difficult to quickly locate information on specific topics.

Spend your money elsewhere., December 3, 1997
This review is from: UNIX Security (Sys Admin-Essential Reference Series) (Paperback)
This "book" is really a collection of (magazine?) articles by different authors and thus suffers from a lack of focus and cohesion. There are some interesting scripts, but you probably already have them or their equivalent. If you can get your company to spring for it, it might be worth buying; if it's your money, there are better choices. Try Rik Farrows "Unix System Secuity: How to Protect Your Data and Prevent Intruders".
