4.0 out of 5 stars UP - Great Game for Kids
My 7 yr old saved his allowance and decided on this game on a recommendation from the salesman at the video store. He loved it! He has already beat it, but said he would play it all over again. I wish some of these games would last a bit longer, especially for the money they cost! But all-in-all a good game for kids.

3.0 out of 5 stars it's an ok game
I just wanted to clear some things up. I rented this game to see how "challenging" the first level was. i beat it in minutes and was really confused on what was so hard about it--especially for adults. I could see younger kids having problems, but adults who are savvy with video games shouldn't have a problem. There are arrows in the grass and little bird footsteps to...

I asked my seven year old son and this was his review- "It's fun, but hard. I like it because Russell can swim and Carl can climb. I think most seven year olds would like it, but not younger. My favorite game I would recommend for six and seven year olds is Lego Star Wars."

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely wonderful game!, June 9, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: UP (Video Game)
I purchased this game for my 10 year old son (as well as my 11 year old daughter and myself, though so far my son is the only one to have played it); the game arrived several hours ago and my son not only had no problem beating the first level, he has already beaten the entire game, including the bonus level. By beating the bonus level he also gained the "Ultimate Cheat."

For anyone considering the purchase of this game I would strongly recommend it - my son had such a good time with it that I can't wait for my daughter to play it so I can have a crack at it!

I just wanted to clear some things up. I rented this game to see how "challenging" the first level was. i beat it in minutes and was really confused on what was so hard about it--especially for adults. I could see younger kids having problems, but adults who are savvy with video games shouldn't have a problem. There are arrows in the grass and little bird footsteps to tell you which way to go. When you are near an object, it will tell you what button to push. I can't say I was crazy about the controls however. The graphics weren't bad, and the game was at least 3 D. The second level was annoying... you have to hit the hearing aid to keep the dogs away, but if you don't, and forget, then you have to fight off 3 dogs...weird. I like to teach kids not to be abusive to animals...but whatever. Just wanted everyone to know this game is not as challenging as the some of the other reviewers have been claiming. I would definitely recommend renting before buying to see if this is a game you would like.

A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: UP (Video Game)
I like this game. I would not say it is my favorite game. But it does take many elements from the movie but it is not really like the movie. I wish they did more with Kevin and Dug instead of making them gadgets. I did like the fact of a bonus level and a ultimate cheat unlocked at the end. This is not an easy game nor a hard game, now I'm an average gamer so this game is just about right. Overall 8.5 out of 10= b

My 5-year-old son loves it. He has enjoyed playing with it so far. It is not too hard for him to navigate. I think that because he has seen the movie Up, he knows the characters and that helps. I feel that this is a good game at a great price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wish it had a save progress., May 8, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

This is a fun game, but I wish that it let you save your progress in between levels. The DS game only has 7 levels, which was a little dissapointing, and I can see how it would be too easy for advanced video gamers. Otherwise, it is a great buy! ;)

purchased this game for my 4+ year old. it was really fun. he did need some help at times (i enjoyed helping) but he did really well on his own too. it took us a week to beat it (i would be afraid to calculate how many hours of play time). we had a great time doing it together.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pleasently Surprised!, January 1, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

I was pleasently surprised by how well this game was crafted. Many of the nintendo DS games, especially those based on movies, don't seem to come out very well in my opinion. In contrast to the wii games of their versions, of course they are going to seem different, but that is because they cannot possibly be played the same way as on another interactive gaming system. I am coming to believe that this nintendo DS game and one or two others based on movies have been good because they have designed input by Disney Interactive... I hope this company keeps on giving their input in the disney based games that they can. One fairly big drawback, as I believe there is this issue with many other games, is that there is no 'save progress' during the levels. One of the levels, particularly a bonus one took a little over an hour to complete (very fun)... It NEEDS a 'save progress'. The bonus features are great and the mini games as well. I think its wonderful that they give factual information for you to read about in the collections section. I am all for educational feedback as well as entertainment combined. I gave the game the overall rating of 4 stars because of its lack of 'save progress' option, especially in a kids (but also adults ;)) game! However, it was very fun, as I said, pleasently surprised. Disney Interactive gave great input. I wish the other company and producers would have thought of voice characterization, but this is WAY better than other movie based DS games I've seen. Definitely get this if you are trying to decide to and not sure... your grandkids, or yourself will enjoy it. Kristina PS: I think these are also (DS movie based games) a bit easier and more enjoyable for those who are not as multi control savvy as those who are with the Wii. They just seem a little less intimidating but yet just as enthusiastic in other ways on the same activities involved in the two games. IE: Shooting down the planes to escape with the house(on this game as is based in the movie)

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed, June 5, 2009
A Kid's Review
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: UP (Video Game)
I was VERY disappointed in this game. I bought it for my 7 year old son because he loved the movie. We have spent several hours over the course of several days trying to get past the very beginning of level one and have never made it. He has finally just given up. Do not buy unless you are very patient or extraordinarily talented at video games!
