Interferes with FM Radio

Design of the dock is nice, but I can't charge my phone and listen to the FM radio in my car at the same time. At first I had it mounted right in front of the radio so I moved it but it still causes loud static in the radio no matter where I put it. Only happens when the phone is actually charging. Will be returning.

Update: Changing to 5 stars. Customer service contacted me and asked me to try a different usb car charger instead of the one they ship with the wireless charger and that fixed the problem. They are sending me a different usb car charger to test as well.

PART of a Very Good solution - but not COMPLETE for most people. Here's how to WIN with this product!

I hope you didn't buy this product thinking that it'd solve all your mobility / safety / convenience issues. Not a chance. How then did I come up with a 3.5 star rating? Read on...

This is a component of a great solution, but it's probably not a complete solution for you. If, like me, you have a newer vehicle with limited mounting options, then these generic mounting options are just terrible. The real reason to buy this is literally _just_ for the Qi compatible charging holder with the universal fitment adjustment and swiveling ball-mount. You'll need to spend another $50 (at least) to get a great setup that wont fall apart or cause you grief (or bodily harm).

Let's break it down now:

1) Forget about the air vent option -- like it's been said, lots of vehicles have vertical louvers in the vents, for which this mounting base is useless. Yep, that's my situation too...no problem we've got plenty more "stuff" in the box...let's move on.
2) The provided adhesive is too weak. I think my base stayed stuck on a non-porous surface for exactly 11 minutes, after prepping with alcohol wipes and everything. Tap it (let alone bang it w / your knee), and it'll come right off the dash / console. I tried 3M auto-body mounting tape, and that didn't even hold for more than a day due to heat in the parked vehicle. 0 for 2 here so far -- huh.
3) The suction cup mount was the only viable option in the box. Unfortunately, that exposes my phone (a Verizon Wireless Samsung Galaxy Note 3) to way too much heat, not to mention putting it out of reach, which is part of the reason for mounting it -- safely keeping my device in place, and within reach. Used with Nexus5 and Spigen Ultra Hybrid Phone Case

I was worried that the wireless charging wouldn't work with a case on the phone and that I would have to take the phone out of the case in order for it to charge... no issues in my instance. I use a Spigen Ultra Hybrid on my Nexus5 (FYI).

The dock comes with a "vent mount" kit that works fantastic in my vehicle! The directional flexibility is very good and the build quality seems very solid. All of the things necessary to plug in and mount are included. You might think about buying a "curly" cable to replace the one that comes with it as it's long so it accommodates many mounting locations. I mounted mine on the vent close to where I plug it in and I had to wrap the wire a bit so that I didn't have excess cable. I like a very clean installation and this makes it possible.

Charge times are pretty quick and the phone still charges even when running GPS Navigation / Pandora and CarDock app all at the same time.

I would recommend this to others.

So far the best Qi Car charger I've found

For the price this is a great addition to my Nexus 5. It's nice that the purchase comes with both the suction mount and the air-vent mount. It also has a USB Car charger and 2 usb cables (1 short and 1 long). The connection is the standard ball mount used in a majority of car mounting accessories. I'm pretty sure it can be switched to use with other bases such as a CD tray mount but I haven't tried yet.

The charging is great even with a case on my phone and charges even while I'm running multiple applications. I use the air-vent adapter so that cold air is blowing on my phone to keep it from getting too hot. (Direct sunlight, black phone, and continuous charging can create plenty of heat). It's not uncommon for your phone to heat up while charging and running applications even if it isn't in the sun.

Build quality is above average, sturdy, and overall a great product. But this area is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. The clamps on the side could be a little stronger for a more secure grip. A couple times my phone has started to move forward and back and required me to squeeze the clamps a little harder. Also, the ball joint is a little stiff and feels cheaper than other mounts I've owned. However, besides those two small things the product is plenty good for 98% of people out there.

I'm in and out of my car a lot and use my phone for calls, navigation, general reference, and playing Ingress. A small button on the back releases the clams to pick up the phone. I personally enjoy having a quick way to take my phone out of my car without having to unplug wires. If you're looking to find where quality and price cross; so far this is the best I've seen and used.
