Background for review:
I have an almost 3 yr old and went with cheap (read <$200) strollers for him which was a BIG mistake. We had a hand-me-down snap-n-go type stroller and a cheap reversible stroller that I bought. Ultimately cheap strollers cost more money because they get damaged and you can't replace parts, the steering is not comprable to high-end strollers and you need several different strollers to meet your needs: a snap-n-go, a good high-use stroller, and an umbrella. This stroller will eliminate that need and grow with your family. I have sent all of our strollers to consignment now that we have this one (a hand-me-down double which was >45 lbs and incredibly awkward, snap-n-go, umbrella and our old $200 all-purpose stroller)

So as context, I have a LOT of experience with strollers. This is a very very good stroller that I would highly recommend, but is not (alas) perfect.

I love my uppababy vista! I had such a hard time picking out a stroller, I live in the middle of no where and my only options to test drive nice strollers would have been to drive 3 hours one way. I couldn't make myself do it. Instead I relied on online reviews/video reviews (rated by mom.com) to check out all of the top strollers. The Vista is pricey but a much more affordable alternative to the Bugaboo and Orbit systems. I am so glad I went with the Vista. It handles amazingly, turns on a dime. Wow! The ride is as smooth as you can get without air tires, I didn't want to deal with inflating tires, etc. I love that I can reverse the toddler seat to face me and with the Uppababy infant snuggler and the seat recline, my two month old has been using this since he turned a month old. I love being able to stroll and watch him, and it makes replacing the pacifier that he keeps dropping a million times so much easier when he is facing me :) The bassinet came in handy during those first few weeks. Love that it comes with the mosquito netting and the rain cover. Go ahead and get the infant car seat adapter, we have a chicco and it works perfectly with the adapter. We find that we use both the toddler seat with infant insert and the car seat adapter equally. Toddler seat with infant insert works better for when he will be sitting a while, and we want him to be more comfortable and the car seat adapter works for those short in and out trips and you don't want to wake baby to take him out. My husband is 6'2 and I am 5'3 this stroller works great for both of us. The handle actually extends, but my husband never needs to extend it, he walks just fine at the shortest height. Love that you don't kick the frame while walking, my husband especially loves that.Read more ›

I am absolutely in love with this stroller. It's so easy to fold and unfold and it turns on a dime!! The bassinet is beautiful and my baby loves lying in it. It's easy to take out the bassinet to put in the car seat adapter for my chicco, which fits perfectly in the stroller. The color "Cole" a slate blue is fabulous and I actually got it for my daughter. I can't wait until she can start using the toddler seat. This stroller is sturdy and I feel that my baby is safe and secure in it. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a stroller. I see no reason to pay for a bugaboo when you can have this stroller and it looks and functions if not better than a bugaboo.

This was just 6 months old when it suddenly fell apart while walking on a sidewalk...baby boy inside! The main folding joint that connects the two metal bars actually burst open, causing the stroller to list dangerously to one side and almost tip over with my child inside. This was only lightly used on city sidewalks...not clear if this should be recalled as I've seen other reviews mentioning the same failure. As a physician that cares for children and infants I can assure you that this should NEVER happen.

I called customer service who, despite a poor attitude, seemed to know exactly what had failed with very little description on my part, making me wonder again if this is a common failure of this product.

For the amount of money that this product costs, and the issue being a safety concern, I would recommend a different product.
