Before you shell out $300 for some cheap plastic phones with somebody's name on them, try the UrbanEars Zinkens. I love the colors and the product is well made, but most important--they sound good. For less than $100 you won't find anything better on the market.

The 3.5mm plug on my UrbanEars headphones "turncable" broke off *in* my iPad, which is something I've never experienced before with another headphone cable. I was able to get the pieces out of the iPad and take a photo, which I'll post if I can. At first I felt fortunate that I had purchased UrbanEars due to their "One year premium warranty"; however, after I submitted the requested information to their representative (including pictures), I was told the following:

"I passed it through to my manager for a second opinion, she believes that it has been broken due to sideways pressure - otherwise the pin would be sticking straight out of the end piece with the black bit sticking out of it. This is how we determine if it is defective (pin is still in tact) or damaged (pin is snapped). I'm sorry this means we will not be replacing your turncable under the warranty."

I just wanted to let others here know that their "premium" warranty may not be what you expect. It certainly wasn't for me.

I intend to buy a new cable from UrbanEars when they become available since I have no other choice. Unfortunately the black cables have been out of stock for several months now. Perhaps others are experiencing the same issue.

For someone who has never had earphones that cost more than $10, I love these. When I first opened the box, everything was packed in their neatly and very professionally. It almost made me feel special to be wearing these headphones. After seeing several reviews on YouTube, I have to say that I'm pretty upset about the noise cancelling qualities. On YouTube I've seen people say that they couldn't hear others talk in the background (while no music was playing). This simply isn't true at all- and you would have to have mild hearing loss for it to be. I can hear many of the background noises in my house, which aren't loud at all. When music is playing it does a nice job of cancelling noise however I can still somewhat hear things in the background unless I turn my volume up to an unbearable level. (I'm not one who likes their music loud, but "medium" volume.) As far as the material that the headphones themselves are made out of- I love it. It feels like very strong plastic/rubber. They are very easy to wipe down and/or clean. They aren't as shiny as they look on the website, but it's no problem for me.

Music play; It's great. I can listen to all of the music that I want to listen to. Admittedly, I'm not an audiophile so I can't give as great as an analysis as many others, but I really do love these headphones, especially for the price. I listen to a lot of alternative rock and pop, so I don't need astounding quality... for someone who has taken a big step from headphones that could be easily thrown away, I have no complaints. I almost didn't know that music could sound so well!

I'm not a DJ, but the two-ended cord is a major plus. If I ever decide to DJ one day I won't have to carry a plug adapter- it's a part of my headphones!

This headphone is good. In my opinion it lacked on the dubstep side, because it requires a lot of bass. So, because of that it sounded muddy. On the other hand it was great for hip-hop, rap, electro, and dance. Overall is good in some areas and bad on others. The shipping was fast and dependable. I wound recommend this to people that like electronic dance, but not to those that like dubstep.

I'm not a DJ. For the most part of it anyway. Sometimes I get behind the decks, but most of the time I'm just a big fan of music across many genres.

These headphones are great. They really are. When you put them on, it cuts out most of the sound around you even when nothing is playing from your music device. The fit is a little bit tight initially, but over a few wears, you'll find the sweet spot your head was meant to fit in & then it can sit for hours with no issue.

The sound is great across all styles of music, especially on bass heavy tracks. It doesn't get too muddy in the mids & the highs don't make the inside of your ears itch. The panning is pretty good, & I've been caught off guard thinking that something's making a sound around me when really it was only from the headphones.

The accessories really make this a fun unit, that is clearly well thought out & interesting enough as a conversation piece. For starters, you can share music with a spare 3.5mm jack on the right headphone. The attached cord is one of the curly ones that can stretch a bit if needed, but not too long that it gets in the way of things. It also comes with a mic for talking on your mobile phone, with a one button control that lets you pause your music, play, or skip a track with a double click.

Most exciting thing though, & crazy props for the innovation, is that you can plug the 3.5mm end back to your headphones & the other end detaches with a 1/4" plug, meaning you'll never have to worry about them silly adaptors again! This idea is so good it should really be a standard for all headphones from now on.

The look is slick, without big flashy branding, which is effortlessly classy & understatedly stylish.
