Before you shell out $300 for some cheap plastic phones with somebody's name on them, try the UrbanEars Zinkens. I love the colors and the product is well made, but most important--they sound good. For less than $100 you won't find anything better on the market.

If you are an aspiring dj and cannot afford the expensive top of the line dj headphones but don't like any of the lower tier options then these should be your go-to purchase, Sound is great, bass is impressive, sleek look - all-around solid!

Pros:

- Good value, in my opinion.
- Has the look/feel of higher-end headphones
- cool matte finish (making exterior soft) and good cushion for ears.
- Adaptable: Has an extra headphone jack so that someone can plug into your headphones and also listen in.
- No noticeable branding (just a small tag)
- After 2 months of use, pretty durable.
- Folds for easier travel
- Great Noise cancelation

Cons:

- Not an amazing sound. If you are an audiophile, you might not like. If you're like me and just want good, solid sound, these will do.
- slightly small for my taste

The best feature was how it has two ports so u can listen with a friend . The sound overall is really good, everything is balanced and although it doesn't advertise noise canceling it keeps out most of it .

I wanted over-ear type phones rather than in ear, and, in making that choice, was prepared for something heftier than the alternatives. These are fairly light, with the result that I can listen much longer than I expected. That's the type of surprise I like!

For someone who has never had earphones that cost more than $10, I love these. When I first opened the box, everything was packed in their neatly and very professionally. It almost made me feel special to be wearing these headphones. After seeing several reviews on YouTube, I have to say that I'm pretty upset about the noise cancelling qualities. On YouTube I've seen people say that they couldn't hear others talk in the background (while no music was playing). This simply isn't true at all- and you would have to have mild hearing loss for it to be. I can hear many of the background noises in my house, which aren't loud at all. When music is playing it does a nice job of cancelling noise however I can still somewhat hear things in the background unless I turn my volume up to an unbearable level. (I'm not one who likes their music loud, but "medium" volume.) As far as the material that the headphones themselves are made out of- I love it. It feels like very strong plastic/rubber. They are very easy to wipe down and/or clean. They aren't as shiny as they look on the website, but it's no problem for me.

Music play; It's great. I can listen to all of the music that I want to listen to. Admittedly, I'm not an audiophile so I can't give as great as an analysis as many others, but I really do love these headphones, especially for the price. I listen to a lot of alternative rock and pop, so I don't need astounding quality... for someone who has taken a big step from headphones that could be easily thrown away, I have no complaints. I almost didn't know that music could sound so well!

I'm not a DJ, but the two-ended cord is a major plus. If I ever decide to DJ one day I won't have to carry a plug adapter- it's a part of my headphones!

This headphone is good. In my opinion it lacked on the dubstep side, because it requires a lot of bass. So, because of that it sounded muddy. On the other hand it was great for hip-hop, rap, electro, and dance. Overall is good in some areas and bad on others. The shipping was fast and dependable. I wound recommend this to people that like electronic dance, but not to those that like dubstep.

My requirements for headphones are fairly specific (so 4/5 stars from me is actually a very high rating). They need to be comfortable, they shouldn't look goofy, they should cancel some noise so I don't have to turn the volume way up in my loud work environment but they must not cancel so much noise I can't hear a conversation. In addition, they can't be in-ear/earbuds as I have found those irritate my ears and cause a tinnitus-like effect over time.

Pretty demanding aren't I? Well, these are as close as I've ever gotten to really meeting those standards. The noise canceling is good but not 100% so my music is not set super loud and I can still hear if someone needs to talk to me or if a conversation is happening. If it's key for me to get involved I just push these off my head and they rest on my shoulders--earbuds would flop to the floor. None of the irritation associated with earbuds either. And the sound is much improved over the UrbanEars Plattan model, which has pathetic bass. Strangely I was able to get these for less than the Plattan retail price. Also, the detachable cable is a brilliant idea not only because of the nifty sound sharing potential but also because it means you can easily replace the part of the headphones most likely to break. As far as comfort, they do start to irritate my head and ears a bit if left in one position for >1-2 hours but if I shift them around or take a break it immediately goes away. Not a big deal.

Is there a better pair of headphones out there? Maybe, but it's not in my budget. I think these are about as good as it gets below $100.
