3.0 out of 5 stars US Airborne in Action - WW 2, May 30, 2010

This review is from: US Airborne in action - Combat Troops No. 10 (Paperback)
This book should have been titled US Airborne in Action WW2. It has very good narrative outlining the creation of US Airbborn forces in WW2 and their use throughout the war. The air drops in Sicily, Normandy, Holland, Germany and Japan are all reviewed. That's the best part.

These In Action books are normally more aimed at the visuals - uniforms, web gear, weapons and the like. Granted, there is some of that here, but with less time on the text, this book could have also included Airborne troops up and through 1992 when the book was published.

If you were looking for a short, concise outline of Airborne WW2, this is actually very good. But I thought it should have covered more of the equipment - there are many other more extensive histories out there, this is too short to compete with them and misses its usual audience - modelers.
