3.0 out of 5 stars meh, July 26, 2007
This review is from: Juggling Balls (SET) (Misc.)
they're okay, but i definitely wouldn't recommend these starting out.. basically, they're slightly large, bald tennis balls.. so they're kinda big for juggling.. especially for a kid starting out.. plus, when you drop em they go bouncing under furniture or rolling across the room.. try cheap tennis balls if you're gonna try these.. unless of course, if you're juggling professionally, and don't drop the balls often enough to matter, in which case, i don't know why you're reading this review...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for beginners, June 5, 2009
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Juggling Balls (SET) (Misc.)
These Balls are too bouncy and when they bump into each other they go all over the place. Good for beginners. Good for juggling 3-4 balls and maybe 5. But with 5 they're too big and they bump into each other. They're a little bit like tennis balls but larger and squishier. My record for 5 of these balls is 22 catches. But my record for bean bags is 111 catches.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly juggle-able at 1/10 the price!!!, January 27, 2012

This review is from: Juggling Balls (SET) (Misc.)
I was skeptical at first...I just went to Seattle's juggling festival where professional silicone juggling balls were $10 EACH. I saw these and decided to try them, to learn how to juggle 5 balls instead of just 3. After all, for roughly 1/10 the price what's the worst that could happen? I have been pleasantly surprised:

PROS:
-They are the exact size (3in) and similar weight (71g +/- 1g) as silicone balls.
-Size and structure is more uniform than beanbags, helping with consistent throws
-They have decent grip
-They don't have much bounce so they tend to stay put (i.e. within walking distance) when you drop them
-They are practically free
-You have an extra ball in case you lose one (if you are learning to juggle 5)
CONS:
-They are vinyl (feels like rubber) rather than silicone
-Each ball has a small but noticeable seem
-Weight is not perfectly balanced (each ball feels ever so lighter around the seem)
-No color choice (each set comes with 1 red, 1 yellow, 1 green)

IN SUMMARY:
If you want to learn how to juggle balls and don't want to spend $30-$50 to get started, this is very juggle-able starter set and will make it easy to transition to a gold-standard silicone set once you are making the big bucks.
