4.0 out of 5 stars
Science, cards, and chess, March 4, 2008

I love these games! I think I have most of the versions, and this one is as much fun as the rest. What could be more fun (and educational) than a hand of cards where you can not only learn something but also get into the "chess" mentality of strategizing in order to win? Science always seems so impossible, but just checking out what a few folks did through the years is pretty amazing and the pictures make science seem more human. My family and I love these card games and I think they're great for pre-teens and teens, especially!

Great Fun While Learning, April 18, 2009

A big fan of Authors, I bought the Scientists deck with the intention of having fun teaching my 13 year old about scientists and their theories. The deck arrived during the Christmas holiday when I had company. At the table with several other adults, we all took a humbling as we stumbled through the long scientific theory names on each card. After a few hands, we all finally started to sound like experienced readers. You could say we adults learned right along with the youngster.
I highly recommend the Scientist's deck.

Underwhelmed, December 31, 2009
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars = Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars

This card set underwhelmed me - sure the scientist information is interesting, but I have two main complaints:
1. The "Scientists Card Game" they advertise is really just Go Fish. It gives you the impression that there are rules inside for a game specifically designed to use these cards and their facts, but there is not.
2. Because the "game" is just Go Fish, the same scientists are used four times - the same one is featured on every card of the same rank (All the "3's" are Marie Curie, for example). This means there are only 13 different scientists featured. The set would have been cooler in my opinion if each card had a different scientist on it.
