Product Description

Amazon.com

Anyone can become a megamillionaire just like Mr. Burns with this collector's edition of Monopoly based on The Simpsons, the beloved, sometimes-controversial animated TV series. The rules of the game remain the same, but the old Monopoly properties are now all Springfield landmarks, with a new monorail running across the game board. Players use tiny pewter game tokens of Bart, Homer, and other Springfield characters as they purchase stores, restaurants, and homes. Who wouldn't want to buy Krustylu Studios or the Kwik-E-Mart? Instead of acquiring houses and hotels, players try to accumulate monorail stops and stations on their properties. Customized Chance and Community Chest cards offer additional sly references and cartoon drawings of the characters. The cultural references are up-to-the-minute, but the educational value of playing strategic board games remains constant. --Marcie Bovetz, mother and former children's librarian

Product Description

The Monorail has come to the quirky town of Springfield, and now it is a race to own it all. Buy and sell your favorite landmarks in the town of Springfield such as Moe's, Barney's Bowl-a-Rama, the Kwik-E-Mart, and the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. This completely customized game comes with six collectible pewter tokens: Bart, Homer, Kang, Blinky, Santa's Little Helper, and Jebediah Springfield. The perfect gift for die-hard Simpsons fans.

Educationally, the game does great, too.

I collect Monopoly board games. This is by far the most beautiful Monopoly game ever. If you are a Simpson fan that's a bonus. The board features almost every place in Springfield from the Kwik-E-Mart to Mr. Burns Manor. You could spend hours looking at every little and totally hilarious details. The game tokens are very nice plus you have the option to purchase other limited edition game tokens which are very cool by the way. The property deeds are a work of art. And on plus side if you have children and want to interest them in math and strategy while having fun you can not go wrong with this one. One more thing; if you do deside to purchase this game and plan on using it you better buy more than one or you will find yourself making your friends wash their hands before they could even think of touching it. Do yourself a favor and buy this game. Have fun.

I aint kidding when I say this is the brightest, most colorful, most well designed Monopoly game out today. I have collected a few over the years but this one really puts a smile on your face. The board has a map of Springfield in the centre, if you look closer you can spot each character walking about the town. The Chance and Community Chest cards have Homer, Bart etc in place of the Monopoly man, the properties go from the tire yard and Cletus' shack (the cheapest) to the Country Club and Burns manor (the dearest) The pewter peices are very finely detailed, and there's an offer to buy four more. Also the property cards have Simpsons artwork on both sides.
If your going to buy a Monopoly game, it really has to be this one.

The Simpson Monopoly gameboard is everything I had hoped for. All of the classic Monopoly sites are now labeled with various places featured in the Simpsons show. However, I was very unhappy to find that the pewter game tokens lack the characters of Marge, Lisa, Maggie, and Mr.Burns. In order to aquire these tokens the company asks that you order them for an extra $10. This is a great piece to have for any Simpsons fan who doesn't mind paying extra for, what I consider, key components to the game or the player who can be content without them. Overall, the gameboard makes up for the lack of main character game tokens.

I received this game last year for Christmas and I enjoy playing this version of monoply more then the orginal. I find it better if your a simpson fan. It's cool how they can do the same rules of play but have a different board design. When you get the game you get the chance to order other characters, which is even better. To me it seems to be a faster pace game, but maybe that's because it catches my attention. I think this game would be better for kids who have a hard time learning, with this game it could hold thier attention and have fun and learn all at once. Its a great game all around.

I got this game as a Christmas gift. When my 4- and 6-year olds bothered me to play it, I was afraid it was too 'old' for them.
I was wrong. They really enjoy playing the game, and get into the fantasy of buying the places. (The bowling alley is a particular favorite.)
And I rediscovered something about playing Monopoly: IT'S A GAME! When I was a kid, I remember being terrified of trading with people; I was sure I'd get the short end of whatever the trade was. So I'd sit on my hands and rarely trade. With my kids, I have a much more free-wheeling approach to trades and it helps a lot: the game goes faster, it's easier to get monopolies and it's just generally more interesting.
They're too young for some of the advanced rules (we don't mortgage), but it's still a fun way to spend an evening.

Simpsons merchandise can sometimes be a bit disappointing (come on, you know I'm right), but this game is definitely one of the best out.
The best thing is that it doesn't look cheap or tacky - they really went to town with the artwork and details. Every single item in this game has been modified for the Simpsons theme, right down to the collectable pewter game pieces. The properties have been substitued for those in Sprinfield - Moe's Bar, The Android's Dungeon, The Sleep Ezy Motel and even Cletus' shack are up for grabs.
This is a really good quality game and is worth every cent. It is probabaly the best quality piece of Simpsons merchandise out at the moment.

This is an extremely great version of what is the greatest board game ever created. The rules are of course exactly the same but the Simpsons properties, money, Chance and Community Chess cards and everything else make it a fresh experience. The fact that the game board and game tokens are monorail themed does date it a little reducing it to a four and a half star rating. I would have preferred it wasn't that way with just the four train stations monorail themed. It is still great though but I would also like to have seen more game tokens of the other family members especially Grandpa and Maggie, and also other characters like Mr Burns in addition or instead of the doughnut. They could have also put Snake in the jail cell on that corner of the board rather than the traditional Monopoly criminal icon and Chief Wigum on the Go to Jail Square but maybe I'm just being picky.

This is an excellent gift idea for anyone who even only occasionally enjoys the Simpsons and a must for anyone who is a fan. Also recommended to enjoy the game even more is Monopoly Companion The Players Guide by Philip Orbanes. This book will refresh the rules and save arguments and even teach you some, such as I never knew the number of houses was limited for a reason so that you could strategise and not buy hotels to stop someone else with a set from building. Just buy the game, you won't be disappointed!
