5.0 out of 5 stars so much fun!
I was so excited to get this game! I couldn't wait to see all the pieces! I'm a huge Beatles fan and this game was just so interesting because of it. I learned a bit about their older, UK albums, and that was neat. I think I might impose a house rule (that would totally be biased toward myself) that in order to buy a "property" (aka album) the player would have to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointingly bland
My initial impression of this new customized edition of the venerable Monopoly game -- theme du jour, the Beatles -- is less than fab. Compared to other special Monopoly editions, this one seems slap-dash and unimaginative, with fewer in-jokes and wit. I'm afraid Apple took the easy way and treated this as nothing so much as a slick promo for the Beatles' back catalog...

I learned a bit about their older, UK albums, and that was neat. I think I might impose a house rule (that would totally be biased toward myself) that in order to buy a "property" (aka album) the player would have to sing a bit of a song from said "property"! It's just a thought! I love the game! Ooh, and there are of course rules for a quicker game too.

I just picked up this new Beatles edition of Monopoly, and I have to say I'm most impressed! Album cover visuals include selections from both the British & American catalogues. There's even Beatles-related song titles like "I'll Keep You Satisfied" & "Come And Get It" thrown into the mix. As well, any board game that features a "Free As A Bird" card gets my vote! Very nice.

A must have for any real Beatles fan - a true Monopoly game, very smartly incorporated with Beatle-themed properties, cards, tokens and more. Monopoly players will enjoy this version, Beatle fans will love it. It's a greate game to Get Back to after a Hard Day's Night!

We've had a whole lot of fun with this game. I'm not usually a monopoly fan, but if it's Beatles themed, I have to have it! I love the pieces, especially the strawberry and walrus, and it's great seeing Beatles album covers all over the board. We picked up Nicole's suggestion from her review to sing a part of a song from the album whenever you want to buy a property -- and also whenever you have to pay rent on it. I highly recommend that rules modification and the game itself!

game came sooner than expected and in new excellant condition. if however you want the version pictured, one large photo covering the entire front of the box, that is not what is being shipped. they are shipping the version with the smaller pics of the beatles on the front box of the game, and the head shots of the beatles on the game board, not the large photo where they are walking down the street. this is a gift and the giftee won't know the difference, but they should use pictures of what they are actually shipping, and it was a bit of a disappointment to get a different version than what was anticipated.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beatle Fun, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!, October 4, 2009
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This Beatle themed version of Monopoly is ideal for the inveterate Beatle fans. From the Beatle-song named pieces (my favorites are "Here Comes the Sun" and "Maxwell's Silver Hammer") to the stops on the board named for places in the Beatles' lives are sure to delight fans of all ages. As you go down the Long & Winding Road acquiring property, try to dodge the Taxman or he'll charge you a percentage of your savings.

It's more fun if you play some Beatle songs while you're playing the game. That will really get you even more into it. We added a rule - if you end up in jail, you have to sing "Help!"

Yes, a fun way to have a Beatle bonding session. I love this game!

I bought the Beatles Monopoly game for my husband for Christmas. Funny thing was I ordered it and had it already wrapped when he saw it on the TV and said "wow that's really cool" - okay so we said our age :)

We have played this a few times - of course while playing Beatles Music. We made a new rule that if you own a property that has the song currently playing then you get an extra $1.00 from each player. We found that to be fun.

Once our teenage daughter (19) ended up having to mortgage most of her properties to pay her dad rent for landing on Apple Studios. She had to count up how much each mortgage was (compared to what she originally paid for it) in order to pay the rent. Confusion was all over her face and she said "That's not fair - I paid more for it!" Her dad said welcome to the real world. The light bulb went off in her head and she told us "Is this really like the real world." In a way yes it is. She didn't let it happen again.

BOTTOM LINE:

The Game is Awesome !!!

In its own way when children can understand it is also educational.

Must play the Beatles while playing the game as it is just meant to be.

We have had many, many hours of fun playing this as a family.

I'm a big Beatles fan and this is a gift for my daughter whom I have made a Beatles fan also. She is going to love it. She saw it on the Beatles website and knows how much it cost there. Amazon had it for so much less. She will love me and I saved money. The best of both worlds.

My initial impression of this new customized edition of the venerable Monopoly game -- theme du jour, the Beatles -- is less than fab. Compared to other special Monopoly editions, this one seems slap-dash and unimaginative, with fewer in-jokes and wit. I'm afraid Apple took the easy way and treated this as nothing so much as a slick promo for the Beatles' back catalog -- the game components seem drawn mainly from album covers, the same old pictures and titles we've known for all these years. There's not much sparkle in this pedestrian presentation, it's not at all the romp I was expecting from the first official Beatles boardgame in over four decades. Hmmph. All those visuals and lyrics and imagery and creativity to draw from, and this dull product was the best (or least controversial) treatment they could do? I used to work as a game designer in the hobby game industry -- I'd design a better Beatles Monopoly game than this in two weeks and charge nothing, just to see this project done properly. Call me, Hasbro! I do like the Rocky Raccoon token, however.

I love monopoly ... any version will do, but this Beatles edition is a MUST for any Beatles fan. All of the properties are albums, the railroads are American venue tickets, Shea Stadium and Candlestick Park are waterworks and electric company, and the cards are the Fab Four and Beatlemania (all other spaces are standard). There is no money, but rather "love," which is all you need anyways! The pewter pieces are my favorite part: I am the Walrus walrus, Strawberry Fields strawberry, Here Comes the Sun sun, Maxwell's Silver Hammer hammer, Rocky Raccoon raccoon, and Octupus' Garden octupus.

I had to play a Beatles album while playing, and I was singing every time I picked up a card! It is a great game that is more fun than the original. It is even educational, as you get to know about the albums, song titles and lyrics. I highly recommend this to every Beatles fan, or even board game fan!
