My 8 year old son received this from his grandparents for his 8 year birthday. He is a chess fanatic and coincidentally, also a Yankees AND a Red Sox fan - he loves good players and a good game. We saw a similar set when on vacation in Boston in Faneuil Hall, but it was not as nice as this set. The commemorative tin is high quality, and it is not difficult to tell which player represents which piece.
The one thing that the set was NOT able to do is give Matthew the edge to beat his grandfather yet - he is still working on it! ENJOY - you will not be disappointed!

This Yankee/Red Sox Chess set is a great game for all ages. I was a little surprised that each player chess peice was not designated for an individual player. That would have been a plus, but the chess peices are still full of art and very entertaining while playing.
