Way too Expensive go to www.newegg.com to compare,

This is a total ripoff. I just checked [..] which is a very reputable dealer and 64GB usb drives are about $150.00 so don't be ripped off by this company. Go to another dealer and get the same space for an acceptable price. I feel that amazon.com should be contacted about this major price gouging.

Expensive? EXPENSIVE?!?!?! At what cost does one pay for the ONLY USB drive certified to store The Sword of a Thousand Truths???? Are you a noob??? The Sword of a Thousand Truths is TOO powerful to be entrusted to a noob, in which case DO NOT purchase this drive. I consider this drive a bargain for He Who Has No Life.

I was going to buy 10 of these, but I am worried they are not that good because the price is so low. Is this a joke, or what?

Sure, I could get two 32 GB flash drives for a total of $428. But when you consider the free car, this is an excellent deal.

In a nutshell you just might be the only person in the world with one of these. That in itself is worth the purchase price.

As of March 9, 2008, you save %40, which corresponds to $2,528.40. If you want to re-experience Black Friday and refresh your good memories without waiting on the line from midnight to 6am, then simply add to your cart and place the order. Please note that, presumably after the huge success of Pro V1, which used to be sold $1K, the company released a new version. So you are going to buy Pro Version 2 of this product, which would make you feel relived and comfartable about the reliability and durableness of it. There is one drawback I need to mention. If you lose the cap, the replacement will cost you around 1000 dollars, if you are lucky and thus there is also 40% sale on that. Sadly, it has been always quite hard to find discounts on the accessories... EDIT ON MARCH 28, 2008: I see that the savings are now greater and accordingly they are running low on the stocks. It is only 5 left! You are wasting your time reading my review. Order it right away, or else it will sell out in a sec!

Supply, Demand, and the Time Value of Technology,
This review is from: USB 2.0 Busdrive 64GB Pro 2 Ver (Personal Computers)
Other reviewers have commented on the price of this product (which was $2500 US back in April of 2008.) Some thought that the price was excessive since you could buy 10 drives of half the capacity for the same $2500, or that someone with "more dollars than sense" could buy it to impress a girl (Huh?). But really, some folks do either have a need for a whole (gasp) 60,000 Megs on one (very) portable drive and/or they have enough money that they don't care about getting the best capacity-to-price ratio. One thing to consider is that lots of people totally waste otherwise good money on products (or capacity) that they'll never even use anyway. Or they get capacity that they'll never need for a cost-effective purpose like storing an easily accessible & transferrable 40GB business presentation in one place. And yes, while a $2000 difference is a lot of money to most of us (for most purposes - like saving old MP3 files) in terms of the percentage of a customer's net worth that's spent on the convenience of having all of it in one unit - lots of people buy stuff for lower dollar amounts but create negative worth (like unpaid credit-card balances) out of impulse of "cuz it's a good deal."This product is obviously "worth it" to some people, some of which have good reasons, and I'm glad it's available. Heck, I wish I could have bought a crate of them for $100,000 each back in 1995 when RAM was $100 a MB (they would have been worth $3,000,000 each.) Or even in 2001 when the San Francisco Chronicle reported on 27th of September: "RAM is now at record low prices, with many vendors offering 256-megabyte modules for US $50..." they'd still be $6000 or so. So for all you reading this in 2012 when these are $5 apiece: you could have bought gold back in 2007 when it was less than $1000 an ounce! |
