I bought this cable for my Verizon LG VX8350 phone so that I could transfer files between my computer and the phone, and it works great. I can now put new ringtones on my phone and save the pictures and other files from the phone. I had to download the cable drivers separately, but I did a Google search and it led me to the Wireless Emporium, which had the drivers I needed.

The tutorials I've read suggested a program called BitPim for conducting transfers. It's what I use now and it's pretty easy to do simple file transfers after you figure out how.

By the way, I bought my cable from Super Cell.

I hope this information is helpful to those who want to use this cable to transfer files. It works wonderfully for me and I rate it 5 stars.

Advertised as being for LG VX5400 phone, and it fit perfectly. Shipment was quick and painless. The only drawback, however, was the fact that the included software did not successfully connect as the USB was not detected as pure USB. Open-source software (BitPim) was soon discovered and connection to the computer was successful

Excited to recieve the item since i have photos on my LG VX5400 saved, on a service I no longer use. Was hoping i could just transfer my photos as easily as I do from my other phones. Not the case at all.

Read all the reviews on amazon, totally thought this cable would work.

It didn't recognize/detect the phone, didn't detect the USB connection. Downloaded BitPim like some other reviewers suggested. BitPim did absolutely nothing for me. However, BitPim suggested that i may need a driver for the phone. Drivers for LG could be found on the LG website. Went to the LG website, and since the VX5400 is no longer made, there was absolutely nothing up there driver wise for this phone. So i'm out of luck. At least I only wasted a few bucks on it. But i still would very much like to have the pics on this phone transferred to my pc.

Btw, the cable does not come with any software, and it is not plug and play capable.

The only PRO of this product is that it fits the VX5400 model phone.

My Verizon LG flip phone broke apart and the Verizon store had "no way" of retrieving my contacts. Their only suggestion was "next time make sure you use backup assistant". Gee, that's helpful! After hours of web research I found that you CAN download the stuff on the phone, you just need the right cable. More research led me to this item and seller.

A few days later the cable with software arrived and in less time than it took to figure out WHICH cable I needed, I had all my contacts off the broken phone and loaded to my new phone. What a life saver!

Used this cable with BitPim software to backup my VX5400 phones. Worked like a charm. Fast and efficient. I did run into a problem on one phone with Bitpim software - was not able to download all images, but it wasn't a cable issue. I downloaded and installed drivers ahead of time, but the cable also came with necessary drivers on a mini-disc. Very satisfied.

By using the BitPim software, I was able to put ringtones and pictures on my phone, and take sound files and photos off of it with ease. Using BitPim was initially somewhat difficult, but there's plenty of tutorials online about using it. This product works exactly as it's intended.

I use this cable to connect my cell phone to the PC.
It does not charge the PC, and does not allow me to transfer data between my PC and the cell phone.
I had to use a memory card reader/writer to transfer data to the microSD card (extra) and insert the card in the cell phone.
