5.0 out of 5 stars Works great
I own a Novatel ex720 express card that I was using in a laptop that I recently replaced. Unforunately, the new laptop did not have an express card slot.I was considering purchasing a new USB card when I came across this adapter. The price was right with little to lose if it did not work as hoped.

2.0 out of 5 stars doesn't work with GT Option Ultra Express
Does not work with GT Option Ultra Express card with MacBook Pro and 3G ATT service.
Still can't really tell if the title/description was stating that it would work or not work with this card, but in any case, it does not. It was worth a try, as now the MacBook Pro 15" do not have the Express card slots.

Time to get a new 3G modem.

2.0 out of 5 stars Failed after a week, June 27, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I received the usb express card adapter to use with an Asus mini laptop I just bought. Initially it performed very well. The second time I plugged it into the usb port, it shut down the computer. Tried the third time while on the phone with Asus tech support and it worked again. Next time and ever since, it has not worked. Plugged just the adapter into another Dell Inspiron laptop and got the message that an over voltage drain was detected and the port would be shut down. My guess is a short in the short wire that connects the Express card slot to the usb connector. Don't have the original packaging, so I guess it's just trash. Ordered and am now using a SIIG unit that is larger and seems more robust and hopefully will continue working. I wouldn't recommend this product based on my experience, but I see others have had no problems and are very pleased. It is more compact and easier to carry with a laptop. So you decide, but just hang onto all the packaging and stuff for a few weeks and make sure it continues to work.

The adapter works great with no reduction in performance of the ex720 that I can detect. This was a very low cost solution to my problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple Design works Great, December 8, 2009

Newer laptops seem to lack the ExpressCard slot so I needed a USB version.

I bought one that had the actual card slot in a metal housing. It broke. It also cost more.

This is a simple design, lightweight, and works very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Doors will open, June 27, 2008

I have a verizon broadband card that works in my laptop PC and my eventual plan is to stop using my laptop as my main computer and return to a desktop. I tried plugging my V740 card into the USB adaptor and found it to work perfectly on my laptop. From this I'm sure it should work on my new refurbished quad-core with Vista desktop, when I finally get around to installing the desktop and becoming familiar with Vista. So at this point I'm real happy because my other plan was to buy a PC expresscard slot adaptor to install to the PCI slots on the mother board. This is simpler. Reason for this is that here in SC, AT&T (current wired phone provider) cannot or will not provide DSL services in my neighborhood so I'm stuck with Verizon broadband services for faster Internet service (dial-up in my neighborhood is slower than 56 kps; 14 to 48 kps, mostly at the lower end). So the Verizon broadband service via this adaptor should get me faster Internet on a desktop, until DSL arrives. However, I believe that Verizon now provides a broadband card that uses USB instead of the expresscard slot, but this was not an option when I started my broadband service so this adaptor is cheap and I believe works for what I intend which for me is easily worth the 5 stars -- I'm easily pleased.

Did not work with my AT&T card. Couldn't tell from the description if it would so I bought it and my card did not fit. It would be helpful to describe the size of the card.
