I agree with most of the negative feeds on this keyboard-poor visibility/poor illumination/loud hum when EL is on. This review is about their customer service. That doesn't rock either.

I got this because i had dim vision and in a normally lit room i couldn't see the letters on a KB. My illumination didn't work most of the time. If i left the switch on it would just start working and then as suddenly stop working. I started the customer rma process in january of 07 and have pursued it all the way through my Attorney General's consumer complaint division. I sent the defective unit back and there has NEVER been a case where they contacted me. I always had to call them. I wouldn't buy anything this company makes because of this lousy response to my legitiimate complaints.

1. The keys are lifeless. Flat and planar, it's easy to hit the wrong key.

2. The El is noisy. Mine hums audibly. As mentioned by another reviewer, the board lights up and the letters are solid, which makes them hard to see.

3. After only a month of regular daily use, my left shift key has occassionally stopped functioning, as has the enter key on the num pad.

it's pretty (oh, there goes my shift key again.0), but is inherently a bad design that is poorly executed. i bet no one at Irocks uses these keyboards. i'm sorely dissapointed.

I needed a solution to a dimly-lit keyboard situation and ordered the Irocks Illuminated keyboard (Mac). The feel and function of the keys is excellent. It's compact, but as another reviewer has stated, there are no sound volume keys. I also miss having a USB port on the keyboard itself. The backlighting is a good solution in theory, but the problem with this keyboard's design is that the key mechanism creates a dark spot in the center of each key. The characters on the keys are offset a bit, but are still within the shadow area. The illumination of the keys might have been enhanced if the plastic used to make them was a translucent milky white instead of clear.

The most effective way to illuminate a keyboard is light through the letters only...This keyboard is the opposite of that and is quite a shoddy design for keyboard illumination...Otherwise it's ok...I would be embarrassed if i designed this keyboard.

This keyboard isn't terrible, it fits nicely with the Apple design asthetic. However it is quite small. Especially it does not have navigation arrows and navigation keys broken out into their own section to the right of the main keyboard as most modern keyboards do. This is fine if you are tight on space, but not if you are purchasing this keyboard solely for the illumniation.

Second, the illumination is ok, but not that great, especially if you have reflected light from another source (like a monitor) shining on the keyboard.

Ive had this keyboard for 6 years, and am somewhat appalled by the reviews. It's a simple keyboard, not meant to do all the crazy stuff logitech keyboards do, which is nice in my opinion because it allows the keyboard itself to be smaller since there doesn't need to be space allocated for music function keys for example. You should know that going into the purchase. Like I said, I've had this keyboard for 6 years and just now the keys are starting to wear out after about 2 years of accidentally stepping on it. They keys themselves are your generic laptop style keys, nothing fancy. The lighting design I actually really like. Most keyboards design the key lighting by having the key lettering in the middle of the key and the light shining through it. I dont like that method so much because I have worn out the lettering on the keys I use most frequently and end up with just blobs of illumination where letters should be (this happened to my Ideazon Merc Stealth Illuminated keyboard). And to those who say it's too bright to see the letters the way it is, I disagree and I also would argue the point that I barely look down to check what letter a key is, I just have to know where the "homerow" is to place my fingers, and I can tell that pretty accurately with the lighting design. There IS an audible hum to the lighting, but it's only a little louder than my case fan and that's the only reason I am taking off a star.

I love this keyboard, it is my favorite second only to the new mac keyboard. The illumination feature I use only occasionally, when illuminated there is a hum and it puts off a lot of EMF so I wouldn't leave it on for very long, but as far as the keyboard goes it has excellent slim touch keys, I can type very fast on it. It feels nice like a laptop keyboard.

i like it -i have been looking for product like this for some time.the only thing I don't like about it , you can't control the sound.
